In short: Aarrgghh !! In full: My admiration and respect for anyone who ran the marathon has gone up several notches.
I 'only' did the half and was an hour outside my PB, but when you have such stunning scenary it was well worth it.
Would love to be able to afford to do all 7 Half's and be able to do all 7 Marathons.
Top Notch. Date of review: May 10, 2009

In short: Tough, but amazing at the same time In full: A fantastic route - helped by the weather! I'm usually too focused on my own pain to notice the surroundings, but they were stunning! A little too 'over-organisied', eg telling us all to carry a mobile phone, while neglecting to tell us the half marathon route was different from the one on the website - how many 'half' runners thought we were on the 'full' route after Worm's Head? All in all a great run tho', will never forget it, and will be back for more :-) Date of review: December 15, 2008

In short: very tough, stunning coastal trail race In full: What a fantastic day. With the exception of parking and lack of aid stations - but we were warned to carry our own i had a fantastic day. Although i only live up the road and regularly train off rioad on Gower this race eclipsed all that. The course was magnificent - obviously helped by the outstanding weather - with views of the area that would tempt anyone back. Just when you think you are finished with hills you then run through the hellish bogs. A fantastic day. Date of review: December 12, 2008

In short: Tough day out. In full: I done the full Marathon which was a real tough challenge and my first trail Marathon, the first 15miles along the coast was magnificent, the rest of the run across farmland I was questioning what the hell I was doing. The mud was the biggest obstacle which came as bit of a shock being a novice but all in all a cracking days running. My only gripe was the parking over a mile away which I'm aware couldn't be avoided due to the weather conditions but the walk back to the car did take the shine of things. In short: This is what trail races should be like In full: Did the half (Gower). Great fun, so much terrain variety - should have worn my Inov8s, it was too slippery for me in trail shoes on the downhill. Incredible scenery, great camaraderie on the course (so much better than a road race) and the course was well marked. Only downside was I felt the registration could have been laid out a little better and we couldn't find the parking field so just found a spot on the streets. Would definitely do it again, one highlight of the year. Date of review: December 7, 2008

In short: Challenging race, great scenery, fab weather! In full: This was my first Endurance Life race, overall the organisation was good. However, no-one had turned up to man the second water stop and everything was in boxes so had to run past to avoid delay. Also, one of the dibbing points was not clearly marked and also not manned so missed it which is annoying. Course was tough with steep inclines and loads of mud, great variety of terrain. Some of the course marking was difficult to pick out, but it must be difficult to mark out twenty odd miles. No presentations at the end due to some sort of hiccup - prizes in the post apparently. Overall - I would say that it was a great experience and one which I'll definitely repeat, I'd recommend this to anyone that wants a real challenge!!! Date of review: December 7, 2008

In short: Its Gripped! In full: This was a total off road experience. Not sure I would call it a race as the course was so muddy as to make it impossible to run much of the route. Climbing up scrambles on all fours was something new to add to the racing CV! Great fun though even though it took me ages to get round.
Only gripes were no medal despite one being promised and worse - no water or drinks at the finish. Hoping for a bit better when I head to Gower for the next event! Date of review: November 11, 2008
