In short: Great race, has PB potential, nice finish
In full: Arrived slightly later than expected due to traffic and then had a worrying queue for the loo but managed to get to the start on time! The race is advertised as flat, which is true if you discount all of the ramps upto the bridges which can certainly sap energy when it was as warm as yesterday.
I felt as if I was struggling upto 8 miles but then what felt like a nice 2 mile downhill section without the wind of the previous two miles certainly lifted my spirits and got me back on track for a new PB. The finish downhill on grass is a real winner enabling everyone to smile as they reach the finish, great touch! Knocked 40 seonds off PB so well chuffed :) :)
Well done to all organisers and marshalls etc

In short: A bit - well - dull
In full: The first five miles are instantly forgettable, the next five miles are much more pleasant to look at but mainly uphill. It's not a bad course and perfectly pleasant, but not very inspiring.

In short: Just ripe for PB slashing
In full: My first running of this race and was very impressed. Bit of a queue for the toilets in the last half hour before the race was really the only gripe. Nice flat course and reasonable weather make this my new favourite course. Well done all round and to all the supporters/marshalls/water stations.....thank you.

In short: Very well-organised and friendly event.
In full: The first few miles are rather dull, but the section through country lanes is great.

In short: Great Course and a great day
In full: Arrived in time to miss the real traffic into the car park which did cause a very small delay. Great two centre location meant that after the race lots of space to mill around. Great local support at water stations and people helping out with medals and chips at the end. An honest PB potential course. One critism is the traffic on the roads a shame as nearly clipped a couple of times. It could be safer with roads closed or at least one side completly closed to traffic. That said would still do it again.

In short: Worth the 2 hour journey getting there for a pleasant Half Marathon experience
In full: First time for this half marathon and curious to see how it would compare to my home town of Taunton. Obviously a slightly smaller set-up but on the whole very impressed with how it was organised. Made sure I arrived in plenty of time to avoid the traffic queues for the car park and the queues for the timing chips, you'll see a theme here. Not sure why these can't be sent out with the race number, surely it can't increase postage costs that much? Only criticism at the start is the number of portaloos which seems rather insufficient for the number of competitors leading to more huge queues....The course is generally flat as stated although there are plenty of gentle inclines which can be a real energy sapper. Good support from locals on the way round which is always gratefully received and well marshalled with plenty of water stations. Managed a PB by just 40 seconds which made the day all the more enjoyable, well done 2:09 Events for organising a good race, hopefully I'll be back next year!!

In short: My first half marathon and felt supported and the organisation was great!
In full: I got really nervous about my first half marathon, but the organisation was excellent and the supporters around the route kept me going. I ran 1:44 and a bit about 10 mins faster than expected. I really enjoyed it and thanks to the cutey in the green running vest who overtook me at mile 3, i may have beat you in the end but I enjoyed many miles following you lol ;-)

In short: Very well organised, scenic half marathon
In full: Very impressed with organisation today. Arrived in good time, no queues, car park next to start, finish just over road, great atmosphere and support round course. Would definitely do again!

In short: Greatly improved since 2 years ago to a very good race
In full: Apart from a long queue to get into the car park on arrival, this was a very good experience.
The start is a bit crowded and narrow, but the new route (since my last event 2008) is a big improvement. After a few miles through town and quiet suburbs, there is a great section through beautiful country lanes which are CLOSED TO TRAFFIC!. Total luxury to be able to focus on views and running without the stress of cars trying to pass by, this is a big winner for me.
Very good, will be back again for sure.
