In short: Really enjoyable way to spend a sumer evening In full: Great race and really enjoyed it this year. Not sure how, but managed to break my own PB for the course by 2 minutes despite the heat. Must have been the thought of the beer tent at the finish!! Great organisation and marshals and the extra water was most appreciated. As was the "gardening" that had been done to the route over the past week. Only down side was the lack of ice cream (for my daughter, honest!) but even this turned up by the time we crossed the finish line. Date of review: June 29, 2010

In short: Good way to spend a Friday evening - thanks Blakedown In full: I really enjoyed the loop in the woods - even though the sand was really draining. I did not like the bottlenecks, although I don't suppose there is any way round this. Thanks for putting out extra water - it was needed as it was so warm last night. The river crossing was welcome, although if it had been a bit deeper it would have been better (maybe we could have swam in it!) Great atmosphere and very enocuraging marshals. Please, please could marshals not give out information unless they know it is correct - a very enthusiastic marshal told us that we were half way, so although I could not see a marker I decided she must know, so did my split on my watch - only to pass the 5k marker some time later. Even then, I thought that maybe it was a short course and she was giving good info - but then when I passed 9k and got to another marshal he told us that we had just over 1k to go! Confused??? Good range of BBQ and cake, and close to the railway station. Thanks to all who organised it. Date of review: June 26, 2010

In short: 10k Cross Country Sand Styles River Forest Hills you name it (oh not much mud) In full: Not for the unfit lol....tough old course add about 6-10 mins on your normal 10k but good fun and lots of Lucozade freebees. You have to queue for some of the styles it's just like a summer XC but then again I like XC. The next week I went up Ben Nevis/Scafel/Snowdon so this was flat ;) Date of review: July 27, 2009

In short: Brilliant! Good work on this one Blakedown, thanks to everyone involved In full: A good crack on a Friday night (was unsure about this at first!), loved the course, village fete atmosphere was fun and the marshalls & support were excellent. It was really nice to be able to race, have pleanty of stuff for family & friends to do then chill with a few beers afterwards. Happy with a top 20 finish, back again next year with the added bonus of knowing the course! Date of review: June 21, 2009
