In short: Great event, but the start is becoming unsafe- it needs some work
In full: What a great event this is. I have done it each year, but this year there was no finish time markers. At the start only a few seconds after the gun were a couple of old dears strolling-- this will cause an accident

This is a great event, but please sort the start

In short: Great atmosphere but the start needs to be more organised (i.e. markers for expected finish time)

In short: Few problems as far as I was concerned
In full: I've done this run each year as I was so inspired by Jane herself. Most of the problems I have encountered in previous years were ironed out but can see there might have been problems for faster runners.

I arrived just after 8.30 but saw no warm ups. Didn't hear them telling people to start in order of runners, joggers, walkers and couldn't hear anything else that was being said from the stage.

There were a couple of bottle necks in the town centre which was slightly frustrating as we could see some runners on the other side of the road going a lot faster.

There was plenty of gatorade and water around at the start, during and after. My main gripe (as it has been each year) is why does the Gatorade just after the halfway point come in cups and not bottles? No one can drink it and run. I put mine into my empty bottle as I had anticiapted this problem.

Put this into the context of why people were there and the organisation it takes and there isn't a lot to complain about.

In short: It may have got too big
In full: 2010 Race - Lots of dodging and this meant for a difficult slower race. The road in places was very narrow for the thousands of runners and very hard to negotiate on coming runners at times. The start needs some work as there were lots of walkers at the very start and people flagging at 2km who should listen to the announcers instructions at the beginning (Runners, Joggers and Walkers etc.) This review will hopefully be taken as feedback as I have run York and Hull and I would advise others to try these races as they were SUPERBLY ORGANISED. Family spectators struggled to enjoy it also as it was so busy and cramped. Sorry I know its a run for all, but I will continue my support at York and Hull.

In short: A lot of dodging
In full: Great atmoshphere and a lot of first timers, but a lot of walkers ahead of the runners, plus a couple of bottle necks led to a mixed race for running.

In short: Shocking organisation. More like a sponsored walk from the start line.
In full: Thoroughly unimpressed. Took us an age to find a car park as Leeds was pretty much closed off, yet no signs for parking anywhere.

As we shuffled to the start line, there was a slight incline as you set off (and I mean SLIGHT) when I was met by a wall of walkers! Had to leap over a barrier and run on other side of road just to get past them. Unbelievable. No starting pens meant walkers were starting from front.

Roads were far too narrow for two way running. Weaving in and out of people, round cones, avoiding in coming runners.

Goody bag was pointless. A carrier with some fruit flakes and a chocolate biscuit? Don't bother.

Yes I know it's all for charity but at £26 a head and 11000+ runners they really should do better. Back to the Abbey Dash & Bradford 10k for me. Never again.

In short: Hull race if not for the heat could bring very fast times. Though this is for everyone.
In full: Hot day, though nice flat course that actually manages to make hull look rather scenic.

In short: Great Atmosphere
In full: Really enjoyable and inclusive race with a great atmosphere. Start was a bit crowded but within a few hundred meters my worries about bottle necks proved unfounded. The twists and turns made it tougher than otherwise you'd expect for such a flat course but kept it interesting. Support was great.
