In short: Tough, Tough, Tough, .....Oh did i mention it was tough!
In full: Dont be put off by the tough heading, its a good test of your fitness levels(of which mine wasn't good enough). Route marking was one of the best i have ever seen, and the marshalls were excellent as was the organisation. I will be back next year to beat this years time........

In short: Good course, well organised, perfect weather
In full: Trail runs are always more fun than road runs! I thoroughly enjoyed this not least because it wasn't very hot and the mostly wooded course was cool anyway. Terrain was good fun, road, stone tracks, sand paths and even through a ford. Only really 2 very big inclines (at about 1-2 miles) and in the second half (that one hurt) and more level running than I'd expected, so there is PB potential by trail standards. It was still a tough 14m though. Course marking superb and marshalling & drinks very good. The only minor annoyance was the bottleneck up hill number 1 caused by so many runners chosing to walk up the hill - very surprising given that we'd only been plodding for 10 mins or so. Top marks to the organisers.

In short: Great race - thanks to all the marshalls and organisers.
In full: Nice not having to do the steps that were in last year's race. Lots of water stations and one with jelly bears! I hurt my ankle but still enjoyed it!!

In short: Good mix of terrain, slick organisation and a challenging race
In full: 14 miles of a variety of terrain, some road, mostly trail, cross fields, woodland tracks and rough footways. Challneging ascents with both short sharp hills and some long drawn out climbs.

Could have used one more water station around mile 8, and the narrow track ascent near the start was basically a queue. But these are minor points.

Great scenery and a really friendly atmosphere.

In short: If you like trail runs with a bit of a sting then this is for you.
In full: This was my first trail run and I can see why so many people enjoy it. Some nice views in places but most of the route through woods which is a good plan for a summers day (even if the weather is not particulalry summery). Good organisation and friendly marshals with a nice medal at the end; made having to walk up some of the hills worth it.

In short: steep hills and absolutely beautiful scenery
In full: Very hard hills, everybody walking up in one line. All surfaces included: mud, sand, rocks, woodland, roads, water, pebbbles certainly multi terrain!! Outstanding beauty, no doubts. The shower situation was interesting - only one shared between everybody and just a few drops coming through. Altogether wonderful experience - very hard race.

In short: Challenging trail race in lovely countryside
In full: Very well marked and marshalled course. Water stations were numerous and well spread; Thoroughly enjoyed the course, but struggled towards the end. Pleasant atmosphere too! On weather front today: too humid for my liking! I hope to run it again in the future! Thanks to the organisers :-)

In short: Strenuous, but good fun.
In full: Thanks to: the lady who pushed me up the slippery slope; Kate (from Liverpool) who kept me going up the final hills !
Good: lots of water stations; friendly.
Needed: a few more signs/marshalls; a route map/description (in advance) on the web.
Overall: I would recommend it.
