In short: A unique event with excellent organisation with the potential to become one of the UK's premier events.
In full: An excellent race and thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible.
The organisation was excellent from start to finish and even included a parachute display at the start and a low level fly past by a Lancaster Bomber at the half way stage!
A following breeze for most of the race helped but the cooling waters of the river crossing at the half way distance gave a opportunity to cool down and sooth aching muscles.
A unique and challenging way to cross the bay and a must do for any runner. This is already unique and has the potential to become one of the UK premier events.

In short: Wow, second year and it just gets better, another great X bay, big massive thanks to all especially marshalls, with words of encouragement, from start, throuout course and end, every single one with a smile. See you all next year.

In short: Superbly organised from the first turn into Hest Bank in your car to the cheerful return of your kit bag at the end - not to forget all the great organisation in the middle - a race not to be missed.

In short: A must-do for any runner.
In full: This must be the flattest and lowest altitude race in the UK. It's certainly not the easiest though. There's a mental challenge of being able to see the course stretching miles ahead of you. I even tried (briefly) running with my eyes closed - it would be a good one for the visually impaired. Imagine what it would be like out there on your own - scarey - but there was no danger of being lost or stranded. The organisation really was extraordinarily good, from the helpful people at the car park, the fleet of coaches (I've never seen a 70-seater before), the registration, the tractors, quad bikes & cheerful marshalls at every mile marker, to the amazing welcome at the end. The best bit was wading through the river - you had to walk, so it was a chance for a drink, a chat and to splash what seemed quite warm water over yourself - and it was at the half-way point, which was just right. Crossing the Bay on foot was something I've always intended to do. Running it as a half marathon has to be the best way to do it. Well done CancerCare!
