In short: Scenic canal run, flat course - pb potential & wide open expanse of the Lee Valley
In full: I agree with previous comments on the day the Marshalls where great at encouraging all the runners.
Scenic route away from the roads and plenty of fresh air. A PB on the card if you flat courses all the time.
Race will become better by 2012 as the site has the Lee Valley White Water Centre which will form part of the Olympics.

In short: A well organised race
In full: Really enjoyed the race. A lovely course and a great set up. Nice atmosphere at the start / finish with the band, massage tent, stalls etc. Congratulations to the organisers and to the marshalls who provided great encouragement going round.

In short: Attractive, well-organised race in a great location.
In full: This is probably my favourite race of the 10-15 I've done so far in my fledgeling running career. The River Lee Country Park makes a great venue for a race with it's scenic, winding footpaths running alongside streams, lakes and canals providing an attractive and traffic-free route. It's very organised with marshals at each turn and almost every one clapped and gave encouragement as I went by. Much appreciated!

The start is located in a large field with loads of room for parking only a few hundred yards away so you can leave all your stuff in your car and only have to find space to carry a key while running. There's music, refreshments and free massages going on too giving a nice relaxed atmosphere, great for beginners. This is also the only race I've done where there has been enough toilets provided to avoid massive queues!

It's a very flat race and the footpaths are mostly paved so there is decent potential for a PB here. Some bits are rather twisty though and, what with it being July and rather hot, there are certainly faster races out there if that's what you are looking for. Personally I managed to beat my time from last year but not quite manage a PB.

You only get a bottle of water and a T-shirt at the end, but if it helps keep the cost down to a tenner then I'm all for it! All in all, it's a great event that's very difficult to fault, I'm surprised it's not more popular!

In short: Hot!
In full: Bit of a bundle at the start and i stupidly went out too quick and paid for it for a couple of km. Good route, good atmosphere, good parking and good organisation. Nice t-shirt (is it the wrong way round?) and only negative point for me was that the ice lolly i chose wasn't the one i thought it was.

In short: Friendly, laidback, scenic and PB potential
In full: Glorious day in a beautiful setting, worth making the trip for.
Loved the classic music in the build up to the race, helped me relax.
Great having Mark Richardson there, that was quite a coup, and he was really friendly.
I didn't realise about the t-shirt, I must have been wearing it wrong way round!
I got a PB although it's been a few months since my last one but I imagine it is pretty good PB potential as fairly flat, only a couple of inclines.
Would def do again next year.

In full: Really good race. Well organised, easy to get to. Nice scenic course, no cars in sight the whole way around. Flat but twisty in places (I had to do a quick U-turn at one point when I missed a sharp turn). It was a nice touch having Olympic medallist Mark Richardson there to start the race and speak to people at the end. Hopefully will race again next year.

In short: Good local run in alovely setting by the River Lea.
In full: Would have liked a medal for the 10k and did they really mean to print the design on the back of the t-shirt and leave the front plain/blank?
But did enjoy the run, despite the heat. Would do again.

In short: Twists and turns like a twisty turny thing
In full: A friendly race in a nice setting and glorious weather, it was a very enjoyable morning. Would have liked a medal (just my personal preference), the start is very tight and I regretted not being bolder and going nearer the front. It is a nice course (highlight was running behind a waddling swan for 200m - bit scary with his friends rustling in the bushes like something from Lost) and pretty much flat. However, it is quite twisty and tight and that, along with that start, I thought made it difficult if looking for a PB. I'd recommend it and would do it again but maybe not if there was a different race worth trying next July. Flawless organisation, thanks to all the volunteers
