In short: Excellent atmosphere
In full: Excellent race on the whole, with great atmosphere, good pb potential (pity about the hill at the end), good music and entertainment en route.

However, there seemed to be a shortage of medals and they had completely run out of large tee shirts when my husband finished the race - it was his first ever 10k race. This is unforgivable as the beginners are out there working longer and harder. Considering everyone in the race had prebooked and prepaid, how could this have happened? This marred what was otherwise an excellent and very well organised event.

In short: Well organised and a fairly flat course
In full: This was my second time doing the race and I enjoyed it again.

The start and finish areas were well organised, and although the entry fee is expensive, the bag at the end is very good.

The course is mainly flat apart from a downhill start and an uphill finish, so there is tbe potential to get a good time.

In short: Mainly flat with killer hill at the end
In full: The course slightly changed since I last ran in 2008, where you don't go round SWFC and the end has a double hill.
Great finish on Arundal Gate, just which the finish was longer on the flat though.

In short: good organisation, good pb potential except for the last killer hill!
In full: My first time running in this race, excellent atmosphere, and good organisation, although did only rececive my race pack 2 days before.
Super start with waves of racers therefore no dreaded bottlenecks.
Good PB potential on a fast flat course, with the exception of the last killer hill, but then Sheffield is built on 7 hills, so it could be far worse!.
Usual Sheffield gripe as mentioned by others the flipping pot holes!
Will be there next year for an even faster time.

In short: Third time in four years and fully enjoyed this one more than the previous races. Not only was there the run itself but the International Market and loads going on in and arouns the start/finish line.
In full: Scenery was never going to be anything special but I felt proud to live in Sheffield today. Not only did I enjoy the run but the entertainment lasted well after the race finished with bands playing in the Millenium Gardens, the Sheffield Wheel in full motion and the weather was ideal. Truly wonderful day.
My one and only gripe is that of many Sheffielders - will the council please sort the damned roads out as they're a disgrace. I wintessed three people trip/fall due to the various holes and dips in the tarmac and it's a real shame that this event and also the Half Marathon fall foul to the critically bad surfaces in this city.
Meanwhile, the people of the city were again great in their support - very grateful guys.
I'll do this run until I'm no longer fit or until I too fall victim to a pot hole!

In short: Good event
In full: I Enjoyed this years race better than last year despite being slower due to having 3 month out with injury. I liked the change to the course at Hillsbrough and the finish. Still hate the killer hill at the end! Well organised, ni bottle necks, plenty of toilets. Well done Sheffield see you next year

In short: Great flat course but tough hill at end to test you
In full: Great event organisation, everything ran operated smoothly for us. Course was flatter than I expected, definitely pb potential. Save some for the long, steep incline at the end of the race. Nice medal & T-shire. Great atmospher and loads going on with the continental market in town and activities for the younger runners. Fantastic day, will definitely be racing here again next year but for charity next time.

In short: Great atmosphere, very well run and very enjoyable!
In full: This was my first time doing this race and I really enjoyed it. Everything went very smooth from entry to eating McDonalds afterwards!

I have one small gripe and that was some of the 'music'. Most of it was great but a couple of them were like listening to a wake!! Not very uplifting at all.

The medals and tee shirts are great, although I did hear that they had run out of bags with Large sizes...unless you wanted a bag without a medal !

All in all, a great race and I'll definitely be back next year.
