In short: Robin Hood 2011 update In full: Further to my earlier remarks about this race I have upped my ratings for it, as I received prompt feedback from the organisers about the timing issues with a valid explanation of why there were issues AND the results have been amended accordingly. Also, duly noted that runners wearing numbers for the opposite sex and invalidating the results have been removed, backed up by the race photographers. Good work OSB. Thankyou. In short: Robin Hood still at large?? In full: Sherwood Pines is a great location for events such as these, made even better by the sun that shone on us all. A 2 lap course that is not too testing, all on pleasant trails. Can't fault the organisation & a range of events for all the family. Only downer was that the 'chip times' were out considerably...by some 15seconds. Interesting that there was a 15second 'count down' at the start before we were off...Hmmmn anyone else adding 2 and 2 together here??? Pricey though, so there really should NOT have been timing issues....perhaps Robin Hood and his Merry Men were out there after all, stealing seconds from the faster runners and giving them to those lower down the field??? Do this for the location, but if you want value & accuracy, you're probably better off sticking with races organised by running clubs. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: A good day overall In full: A good race, well organised, in very pleasant surroundings. Definite PB potential, as long as you can start at the front (It's quite difficult to pass people at the beginning)! I agree with the previous review about the cost, and I'm pretty sure my chip time was out by a bit as well. Apart from that a good day out. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Pleasant off road race In full: Well organised, lovely scenery and friendly atmosphere. Undulating but a pretty quick course, no major hills at all. Still a bit costly for a 10k and everyone I spoke to said their chip timing was wrong by a fair bit including mine. However I would do the race again. Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: Good course, good scenery, nice off road run In full: Well organised, running events a tiny bit late starting due to over run on dualathlon event but didn't harm the event at all. All on tracks around the forest so not excessively off roady. At the expensive end of events especially with car parking charges but I felt it was worth it. Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: Very well organised and slick, commercial but nice scenery and great trail paths In full: Only my second 10k but seemed very well organised, quite 'commercial' but this didn't detract - good water stops, great trail paths to run on, well marked route etc - no complaints expect my time was slower than I expected as it seemed quite a fast course! In short: Nice setting. Well organised. More of a commercial venture than a friendly club race. Date of review: October 13, 2010
