In short: Well organised race in beautiful countryside In full: A very well organised 10 mile race, with excellent marshalling and superb scenery. Certainly quite hilly so not really a PB route. I agree that a clearer start and finish line would have ben helpful but these are very minor points. Quite a back-to-basics event with no chip timing etc. and very much a real runners' event but not so serious as to be beginner-unfriendly Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: A good club race In full: A well organised race from start to finish, thanks to all involved. It would have been nice to see the results on the day, & a clearer start & finish line is something to consider for next year. Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: Almost hilly, but still remarkably fast In full: The organisation was flawless. Registration on the day took less than 5 minutes, despite lengthy queues. Well manned water stations in all the right places. More marshals than you could (or should) wave a large stick at. The course is on the verge of being hilly - its certainly rarely flat, But that made it interesting. Would recommend this one to everyone who likes a challenge. Date of review: May 8, 2011

In short: Lovely 10 miler in the heart of the south downs In full: Organisation went off without a hitch, beautiful english countryside, the 3 mile hill to start with is a bit challenging, but can actually help you if you pace it right! Think the bloke on the megaphone on the finish did a fantastic job at shouting at some of the finishers that were standing in the way of those still racing! Nice medal, and the lil scouts were very good at dishing out the water too! Date of review: May 8, 2011

In short: Definitely undulating, the atmosphere/marshalls was brilliant In full: Great support from local residence on a very undulating course. My first 10 miler since October, loved it and a pb :) Chuffed Date of review: May 8, 2011

In short: The Very Definition of Undulating In full: The Alton 10 is either uphill or downhill never flat, but the hills are neither long or steep, just enough to create a challenge and stop you getting into a constant stride. The course aside, the event is really well organised, plenty of water, good marshalls, excellent value for money in a nice part of the world. This year the weather was cool which certainly helped to record faster times. Date of review: May 12, 2010

In short: Tough 10 miler, but good organisation, great marshalls and good work by the scouts on the drinks In full: Good race, long ups and steep downs, no flat to be found. Not for a PB but will make your next race better. Struggled after injury caused lack of training, but this got me back in to it. Will be back next year for a better time! Date of review: May 11, 2010
