In short: Yet another Top notch Thanet RR event In full: Yet another magnificent event from Thanet Runners. A bit dryer than other years, but still lots of mud which tempted you to take randon short cuts, some which were, others which most definately weren't! Friendly marshals, helpful organisers and one of the best goodie bags from any event ever! Great trophies for podium placers. Excellent value for laughs! See you next year Date of review: January 16, 2012

In short: Challenging but fun In full: This was my first duathlon and I was quite daunted by the prospect of trying to handly my bike in the mud. However, we had glorious weather on the day and little rain in the run up, so there was just enough mud for a few giggles. I really enjoyed the route and the distance was just right. Everyone was very friendly, I ended up with company on both legs of the run which really helped. Brilliant encouraging marshalls at every point I needed one - thanks to all of them, they must have got chilly! I would definitely do this again. Date of review: January 16, 2012

In short: Very hard, cold, wet, muddy, but well worth it! In full: A superb race and my first at this location. Facilities include plenty of parking, good toilets and a cafe / restaurant (if they let you in looking like you will post race!). Friendly crew and fellow competitors. Some real elite looking types but also plenty of mid-field and back markers. First run is a gentle warm up on the prom, then two 4.5m laps of a very muddy marsh / farm area. Some parts virtually unrideable if you take the wrong line! Very challenging and difficult to get any momentum up. Last run is a lap of the same MTB circuit with 4 freezing dyke crossings. Some ankle deep, others well over thigh depth! All in all a top event, great people and a proper challenge. Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: Good 2.4 mile road run 9 miles of almost flat boggy biking followed by 4.5 miles of almost flat boggy XC run with 4 dykes for good measure. In full: An entry of around 75 people with good parking, plenty of space, toilets (with hot water) make this very well organized event. Little pricy but all profits do go to charity. The race is 2.4 miles of seaside hard surface before the boggy mud starts. The biking is almost flat 2 laps of 4.5miles muddy marsh land with little chance to build much momentum. The XC run is a repeat of the 4.5 mile bike course which is now very cut up by 2 laps of the bikes. There is also 4 cold water filled dykes to run though. All in all this is a very fun and friendy event which will make most people feel very welcome.

In short: A freezing cold day but such a fun time to be had by all In full: A very challeging race and I am glad I did it as a time. It was cold waiting for my cyclist to finish so I could the last leg of running. But the last leg of running was worth the wait. It was such good fun. An interesting cross country with plenty of surprises including a very deep dyke and lots of hills to keep your interest. Would love to do this again! Excellent goody bag, a medal and sweater. An expensive race but at least the goody bag was worth it. Date of review: January 9, 2009
