In short: great weather, great view, will go again next year
In full: it was my second HM and maybe not the easiest one, however i will def be there again next year.

hills were hard and sometimes a bit slippery, however great views, great weather and great atmosphere all made up for that.

In short: My favourite 1/2 marathon so far, in spite of the forested hills

In short: Challenging but great fun!
In full: I entered this run after doing the Bacchus half the previous month (same start and finish points). This seemed to be a smaller event with a faster set of runners. A lovely sunny day but the course was very muddy and slippery in places. There are lots of hills to climb but a surprising amount of downhill as well. Marshalling was great and there was not once where I felt uncertain as to where I needed to go. Great to have a quality T-shirt and bottle of ale at the end!

In short: Excellent if tough half marathon
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed the Surrey Badger Half Marathon yesterday. Well organised, with a great setting in the Boxhill area. The Hills are a challenge, in particular the long and very steep drag at around 10-11 miles.

In short: Stunning but tricky!
In full: A great race in beautiful countryside; lovely atmosphere some tricky hills and terrain (I nearly rolled my ankle)but all in all a delight!

The marshalling was great - some of the marshals were extremely enthusiastic which is always nice to be around!

The t-shirt and beer is a good reward for the race too!

One negative was the volume of the music; did it need to be that loud?! and my wife was less than impressed having to be in the vicinity of it while I was racing!

In short: Fantastic weather, brilliant organisation, amazing sense of achievement
In full: I tried Farnham Half last year which is also off road and hilly, but this is far better. Great start/finish location at Denbies and fun run and restaurant kept the supporters happy. The weather added something special to the day but the course was the right side of challenging - hard but not impossible giving a real sense of achievement at the end. Was I the only one to miss out on a running diary at the end? T-shirt is great though.

In short: Fun, hard, hilly. Well organised, nice scenery and a good intro to trail running.
In full: After Barns Green last week this is the second really nice HM I've done in eight days. Good atmosphere (I liked the pre/post race music, but tastes vary) and a good facility at Denbies. Hard course but nothing extreme; well marked with good marshals (sorry for being too tired to always say thanks on the hills!) Nice tech t-shirt easily makes up for no medal. Would be nice to be able to see results sorted by chip time but otherwise all good. Does make me more likely to look at other events in the same area, Bacchus marathon maybe...? :)

In short: Splendid (near) autumnal Surrey woodlands
In full: Were the hills so hard, as suggested? I found the route well chosen in that respect, to mitigate ascents that can be *a lot* harder in the area - such as Box Hill! Altogether a very good half marathon if about half-and-half tarmac and trail, so not quite what a pure country runner would prefer - but then the challenge is to create a 13 mile + route from Denbies which is a glorious location with the grapes hanging in early October.

The raucous music at the start/finish can bash the ears, OK for some Freddie Mercury at the start and a snatch of Frank Sinatra at the end, however most of it was jarring than feel-good - new DJ selections please!

In short: Bloomin' glorious race
In full: Absolutely bloomin fantastic half mara. Stunning scenery, fab organisation, very inclusive and great atmosphere for families too.
Yes the hills were relentless and hard, but what went up came down in glorious swoops of the Surrey countryside. Loved every minute, and I really don't do hills.
Thanks to ETL as always, all the incredibly enthusiastic marshalls and to Denbies for being so accommodating. Molehills next!!
