In short: up and down, scenic, blessed with little traffic, friendly
In full: agree with other commentators re hills - predominantly downhill 2nd half can't compensate time wise for uphill challenge in 1st half, but friendly scenic rout and massive plus is lightness of traffic even by the standards of a rural race

In short: Very hilly - uphill for first half, but lots of downhill second half. Very scenic run down country lanes and well organised and catered start/finish!

In short: A tough first half 10K race, through lovely rural scenery
In full: The first mile is steadyily uphill, then from mile 1.5 to 2.5 it goes up, up and up! From about the 3rd mile, it really is downhill and fast. A nice atmosphere, lovely setting, friendly marshalls, some supporters and a nice yellow t-shirt for taking part. Overall a very nice but tough 10K.

In short: Hills as far as the eye could see
In full: My training partner warned me that the hills on the first 4.5k were steep and she wasn't wrong! It was a tough race and there were quite a few people walking up the hills (why? it's a run not a ramble people!!!).

Some of the downhills are also quite steep which can be difficult as you have to control your running when your wobbly legs just want to give way!

I'd do it again but only with more hill training beforehand.

Nice T-Shirt though :-)

In short: Tough 10k
In full: very good challenging 10k, Nice wide roads to start so no bottle necks and a real test on some hills. Good day out.
