In short: Is their a better race in Somerset these days? In full: My third visit to this great race did not disappoint. Superbly organised and ran like clockwork.
Everyone was very friendly and in all i thought that this was the best race yet.
For me this is the best race of the year now in Somerset. The distance means you are not always hunting a PB and can just enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Really good value too + the club donate money to charity.
Well done to the organisers and i will be back next year of that i can be sure.
The catfish!

In short: Despite being a tough race it's still one of my all-time favourites. In full: My third time and the hills don't get any easier! But the organisation, friendly atmosphere and scenery make this race well worth re-visiting. The marshalls are great and there always seems to be plenty of them. And this year, there were even more jelly babies! Date of review: February 22, 2010

Thank you to the marshalls and organisers for a great run

In short: Well organised, tough race, lovely scenery In full: This was my third year doing this race and as usual it was really well organised with the free photo at the end and great long sleeve t shirt. Its a tough race and you need to have done your hill training but the downhills were just as great. Excellent marshalls and support. Date of review: February 21, 2010

In short: Hundinger Hill should be renamed Humdinger Hell. Excellent though!! In full: Brilliant race. Good views, good marshalling, mile markers, 2 drink stops, excellent spectators and a nice soft tshirt as a prize! Oooh and a ticket giving free entry to Hestercombe Gardens to redeem in the future :-)
Yes it was hard and my lungs nearly exploded on the second hill (mile 8) but it was worth every minute.
Will definitely be back for more next year.
Ps. Although I have put PB potential as low, I doubt many people have a race PB for a 9.5miler because of the rare distance. I've never run a 9.5 miles so it is (by default unfortuately) a PB (to be improved next year)! Date of review: February 21, 2010

In short: Excellent organisation, very good value, tough hills. In full: Really enjoyed this event and the long-sleeved T-shirt reward will certainly see some wear.
Excellent marshalling, good PA, good atmosphere and the inclusion of the 5k was a nice touch. It meant my wife could have a run too.
The negatives? Well personally I found the hills made this one tough race, and the downhill bits are included there. Those descents really took their toll and the one before the Humdinger Hill ruined any chance I had of getting up it.
You can't blame the organisers for the hills and it's not as if you don't know about them.
The jelly babies at 4 miles were great, though another water station wouldn't have gone amiss.
All in all though, this is a great event. A 9/10 job and I'll be there next year. Date of review: February 21, 2010
