In short: a good fun race
In full: 2nd year here with me in the marathon with my kids again in the fun runs. As last year very well organised and a good friendly fun run rather than race which is so pleasant and enjoyable. Well done to the organisors and marshalls and I look forward to the same next year, hope you raised loads for the charity.

In short: Great organisation....very friendly race
In full: I decided to do this about 2 weeks ago, and i am so pleased that i did. Everyone of the helpers were encouraging and so friendly.
A bargain entry fee, and only a medal at the end, that is not a critism its nice to know that all the money goes to the charity and not on mugs and t-shirts etc.
Other runners were encouraging also, i really had a great day and will look forward to returning to run again next year.
A big thankyou to the couple who help organise it and running with there dog, it was nice to have a chat with you both and pass a few miles away, and thankyou for thanking me and using me for your pacing. I am not that hard to miss as i am a large target to aim for.
Do this as one of your marathons, a great one to support.

In short: A brilliant Marathon, well organised and for such a great cause
In full: This was my first Marathon and I have to say the organisation was brilliant, everyone was really really nice and supportive. The cause is very worthwile and the route is hard but not impossible. Highly recommend this run for everyone, thank you to everyone who organised and marshalled the race, you made the difference.

In short: The people behind this marathon made this event a very special one
In full: A two lap suburban marathon in and around Orpington with a small offroad section. Undulating, mainly on pavement with a few road crossings which were marshaled. I enjoyed the run which was challenging, but the cool/drizzly conditions were ideal for running in (but not for marshalling or spectating).

The day was used for fundraising purposes, encompassing a number of differing events allowing for a good number of participants. Lots of really genuine people giving up their day for good causes (and lost causes like us marathon runners).

The only slight downside was the marathon coming up short as 25.4 miles. As I had a garmin, I decided to add on a couple of loops of the park at the end with another runner to make up the shortfall. Made the day even more eventful. Mentioned to the marshals that they just needed to direct the marathoners back in to the start line and out again before starting the second lap - easily solved.

Otherwise, a really top day, and thanks to everyone involved.

In short: Shame about the weather
In full: The marshalls were brilliant, esp the fact that some of them had put in all day, esp when the half-marathon must have been a wet and cold experience for them, lots of thanks must go to these wonderful people who make the races possible, so many drink stations,I don't think I have every seen so many. I found the race hard going esp about the 10 mile mark, there were many marathoners who finished before me.

In short: well organised, marshalled and signed and on a charity race
In full: I too had brought the map and instructions imagining that for a low key, charity race I may well need them. In fact it had probably just the right amount of signs and helpful marshalls, with drinks if you needed them. There are road crossings and pedestrians that will prevent any thoughts of PBs but they've made this into a really enjoyable local marathon for a good cause, well done

In short: quite well organised charity event - great marshalls - pity such a short course
In full: Good to see such support for this charity event - plenty of drinks - very helpful marshals despite the horrible weather - just a pity it was so short of the marathon distance - I followed the route intructions (just like an LDWA event)- the consensus of the garmins was just under 25.4 miles ? Well supported by the 100 Marathon Club - but probably not next year due to the short course ?

In short: A great day out. The organisers sorted out last year's problems and got it right this time.
In full: It's good when organisers care about the feedback from the runners. Last year highlighted a few issues and they have all been addressed which made for a great day. Numbers keep increasing for this race and long may it continue. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: A low-key event with a good positive feel about it
In full: I'd expected this to be a lot more of a look-after-yourself event and came equipped with a map, route instructions and bottles of drink to see me through. In fact, there were loads of (very friendly and helpful) marshals, drinks stations and route markers. You really couldn't fault the organisation and there's not much you can do about the fact that a lot of the route is along busy roads with more road crossings than would be ideal. I liked the range of events catering for all levels and the mix of people they attracted. Shame the weather wasn't a little better - I'd not bothered with the gloves since it was in south London in May!
