In short: Second year at Nottingham & enjoyed it so much. In full: Really good fun though hard work - but what else would you expect. The queues were a pleasent breather but also frustrating, could be easily fixed for next year. Where was the archery this year?!
There were a few nasty injuries but an event like this isn't risk free and as long as it's clearly explained to all that's ok. Date of review: October 11, 2009
In short: Great day in Nottingham In full: Aside from some queues at the water and city-scape obstacles, the race was a very good one. Well worth the trip up from London -- will be back next year... Date of review: October 11, 2009
In short: Real fun for big kids. In full: Really enjoyed this one, great atmosphere. Friendly competitors and well marshalled. Potential improvements would be to move change the route so the earlier wave runners heading towards Notts Forest's City Ground didin't meet slower runners on the path. There also needs to be some improvements to cut queues at water slide, under armour zone and the urban jungle. Date of review: October 10, 2009
In short: nottingham race- terrible organisation - thanks goodness for the nice scenery In full: maybe i was just unlucky but everything seemed to go wrong in the organisation department -ie they didnt have my race pack -etc etc etc ...i was in the first wave and some obsticles werent set up - lots of cueing and lots of falls and injuries at least 2 were really looking serious. horrible marshall on the last wall who was really nasty to me cause i struggled jumping off the 3 meter wall - thankfully some nice guys helped me down - but that last marshall was really nasty . i worry about how many folk were injured in this race - even in the first wave the ground was really bad - the later waves had no chance. the course was over 11k too on the plus side nottingham route is stunning and the goody bags were brill- but i wont be doing this race again Date of review: October 10, 2009
In short: Excellent fun race! In full: definately will be back next year it was a such a laugh!!I was smilling continously. easier than i thought it would be but then i tooking it sensibly on the running sections. the inflatable and men's wall were the hardest obstatcles. In short: Hard as Nails In full: I completed the race in Cardiff yesterday and needless to say I have very sore thighs. It was a fantastic race, the obsticals were testing at stages, and the atmosphere was incredible. I would definately recommend this to anyone wishing for a different 10K. I might book a hotel next year, as I left at 05h30 from Tunbridge Wells, Kent and got back at 17h00. Long drive back after a beating. Date of review: October 5, 2009
In short: great race - like a grown ups playground In full: Really good as a different way of spending your Sunday. No chance of a fast 10k (haven't ever recorded over an hour before let alone 1:45!!!!! but the obstacles were what made the day. Obviously there were always going to be queues for stations but overall this was handled well except for the last but one "parquor" stage where I had a frustrating wait but was “cheered” to see it was twice as long by the time I left as when I joined. That there were only medium and small t-shirts available before the first wave set off didn't bode well for anyone large in the later waves (espetialy as you were obliged to wear them for the event). Excellent goodie bag with a somewhat eclectic selection of gifts – quite expensive but probably justified
