In short: Could do better
In full: Problems throughout the race but if the organiser's can fix them it could be a good race. The queues and lack of announcements made the start confusing.
Although the course is flat its quite challenging mentally as there is a lot of tuning back on yourself so it feels slow. Personally I would always prefer mile rather than km makers, particularly on this distance.
The end of the race was also full of queues but there were good elements...the timing chip in the bib, names on the bib, starting pens, marshalls cheering, bananas at the end rather than chocolate bars. If they can sort the route out I'll be back as everything else is forgivable but otherwise I'm not sure.

In short: Nice race but the organisation was a shambles
In full: This race has so much potential but is spoilt by lack of organisation. With a few more road closures to avoid the narrow pathways it could become a great race. Unfortunately the day will be remembered for the lack of a PA system so no anouncements for the start. Lack of marhalls at the water station, chaos at the baggage handling area, a big shame all round.

In short: Shambolic organisation
In full: This was my first half marathon, so I chose to support a local race. I wish I hadn't. I was glad I had someone with me to mind my bag, as the baggage queue was hundreds of meters long and some folk missed the start of the race. Likewise for the toilet queues. The start itself was delayed but there were no announcements (someone came around with a mic to say there was a zumba warm-up, but it wasn't at the holding pens and most runners had already started by then anyway). One of water stations ran dry before the end of the race. Big cheers to the marshalls and the steel drum players along the Green Way, who really helped to cheer things up. My biggest complaint is that the placings are by gun time rather than chip time, so I am placed behind a lot of runners with slower times - that can't be right. I appreciate it was the first half marathon, but there have been four previous 10ks, so I expected better organisation.

In short: Good intentions but...
In full: I understand this race is fairly new so with trial and error things can improve..
To start with I thought that having the name printed on the bib was a good touch so that people can call out your name and cheer you on.
The negatives... The queue at the baggage area was ridiculously long, the water stations were not manned, marshalls were quiet, no toilet paper in the loos after the race. The course was very boring and hilly at times, I probably would just do it as a 10k not a half marathon

In short: Nice race with poor organisation
In full: The race was nice and fast with a very nice medal. You could do a PB as it was flat.
But the organisation was poor as there was problem in the baggage, unstaffed water station, and I didn't understand when the race begun. I was in the baggage drop off queue when I saw that the first group of runners begun the race!!!

In short: Awful Organisation
In full: The race itself was fine and the atmosphere was good. However the organisation was terrible beyond belief, i will definitely not be returning next year. There was a lot of confusion at the start and the race started with at least 100 people still in the baggage drop off queue!

In short: Enjoyed the scenery and very friendly marshalls. Start/finish needs attention
In full: I enjoyed the atmosphere and the route. A good day. However, it was like a collection of races with the way the start is organised. Glad it was warm with the baggage collection. Markers were well intentioned but miles would be better than Km - which were not very clear. Marshalls were jolly, encouraging and helpful. well done.

In short: Baggage was a shambles
In full: The race started when we were still putting bags in...meaning fighting your way through slow runners. Poor organisation.

In short: good course but poorly organised
In full: All I have to say is baggage. They were still putting up the tent when I got there. They were still queuing when tbe race started! We then had the mamouth queue to collect the bags. Nice flat course but too many runner's for the organiser's to cope with.
