In short: Superb race
In full: Kissing gates and bridges present a bit of a challenge for those looking for a fast time, but the trade-off is a glorious route along the Thames, with great marshalling and organisation. Superb start/finish venue.

In full: Loved it. Marshalls were great, drummers & entertainment was brill. 2 girls on the bridge were so lively & encouraging. Very well organised. Terrain was good, bit like a Hash with HWH3 so I was used to the shiggy. Thank you for a great run.

In short: Brilliant, my first half marathon, missed the 11 mile marker which made hurley a bit of a wilderness and plastic cups made hydration tricky but was amazing!

In short: Purple Patch have done it again + put on a sensational race all for a great cause.. Marshals were brilliant, African drummers exhilerating and atmosphere picturesque. More mario-kart obsticles (gates, mud, sheep) but a brilliant day out - well done.

In full: A beautiful course with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's mostly off road so be prepared for mud and puddles and everything you would usually get on a trail run in the UK in springtime. It may effectively be out and back but you don't notice that as it looks very different going the other way. It's not a PB course as a result and particularly further back where I'm told there were small queues to get through the kissing gates. However, it's the perfect half to include as part of a longer eg 20 mile marathon prep run as getting to the start is easy due to the small field so you can run straight off if you've already done some miles. The organisation was great and the support along the route from the marshalls and the drum players was some of the best I've experienced. I would really recommend this to all beginner runners - they even interrupted the medal ceremony to clap in those that were nearer the back and everyone got a mention on the tannoy thanks to some fantastic team work by the finish marshalls. A great day out - and OK we had sunshine, but I have a feeling the enthusiasm of everyone involved would have meant it would have been great even in the rain. I'll definitely be back.

In short: Flat course along the river with fantastic scenery and the nicest marshalls ever
In full: I didnt get much sleep on Saturday night so that might have been a contributing factor but I found the course pretty tough compared to recent, much hillier, half marathons I have done. It was flat but sticky underfoot. Great views, glorious weather and lively atmosphere.
