In short: quick but flawed In full: Nice quick two lap course but hard to get too without a car, not enough parking and a lack of km markers which made it hard to work out distance. Marshalls were sporadic and fairly quiet also giving no idea of distance. Fairly cheap though and if you live locally probably worth it for the PB potential. Date of review: March 8, 2010

In short: Enjoyable Sunday morning In full: I hadn't been to Bushy Park before, it was worth coming just to see it. The race was adequately well organised, no chip timing, no end race electronic banner, not many km markers, but that didn't bother me. There was a nice atmosphere, I'd do it again, it is a great place to run a 10k at any time of the year. Date of review: March 8, 2010

In short: Took me longer to get out of the car park than to run a slow 10K. Never again. Otherwise OKK In full: This was a "for profit" race (not running club, not charity) and had a bit of a flat atmosphere and some "spaced out stewards". Start time of 10:30 and sunny day meant that leaving the car park was appalling. It took 75 mins to get from the car park to the main road. Could have done without tinny medal. In short: Great Scenary and Lovely Course In full: The race is fantastic, on a lovely scenic course and with no problems for parking and is great VFM with both a medal and T-shirt at the end. It also has great PB potential, as it is completely flat. The gripes are few and as already mentioned by some runners, some KM markers would have been appreciated, apart from the 2 and 7km which were just simply wrong. The start also caught a further number of runners, as the race began a couple of minutes earlier and also the finish line could have been a little more distictive. However, as noted already, the £10 entry fee more than makes up for this and I will return in the future. Keep up the good work and I am surprised this race is not better supported. In short: Second Bushy Park 10k, and I will be back in October! In full: I love this run. The park is beautiful, the price is great, the organisation is basic but well done (still got the 2k marker in the wrong place at 1.3k and the stretch to the finish line still confused me as it changes on the final lap and the marshalls are not clear...). But overall, tip top and will be back again for the next one! Date of review: March 7, 2010

In short: Sunny Day! Yes but Freezing wind!!! In full: Having read a few of the reviews, I couldn't believe no-one had mentioned the cold! Maybe I'm just a wimp. KM markers very poor. Have none rather than 2 in the wrong place. 5KM marker would have been good. Otherwise well organised at start with no panic and cheap entry on the day. Lovely course. Agree that guy at start could have been a bit more chirpy. T-Shirt and Medal great. Water half way fine. I suppose finish line could have been clearly marked. Good old fashioned timing and noting numbers down. Highly accurate and on-line the same evening, better than a couple of events I have been at where the chip timing has gone to pot. In short: Thoroughly enjoyable, and priced just right! In full: The weather was warm, the skies were clear, and the sun shone down upon what seemed to be a couple of hundred runners ready to do two laps of the beautiful Bushy Park. With three car parks, there are plenty of places for competitors to park. It is also served fantastically by public transport.
The registration process on the day was quick and simple. From there, a steward escorted us to the start line where an air horn marked the start of the run.
The course was well marked in terms of direction, with the encourageable stewards on most corners. The 2Km and 7Km markers were a little short though. It's a lovely flat course, but can get very windy.
Upon completion of the first lap, two ladies were stood offering bottles of water to passing runners. Pacing towards the finish was a joy as it was to a generous cheer and applause from both the locals and fellow runners. Numbers were noted as we passed the finish line and the queuing began to receive medals, t-shirts, and a voucher for Specsavers.
For £10, it's just about right. Bushy Park on a warm day is one of my favourite runs, and thoroughly recommended! Date of review: March 7, 2010
