In short: Breathtaking
In full: A great day for running
The weather was perfect but the hills were a real challenge.
A well organised race with a nice community atmosphere. Thanks to all The Scouts and marshals for help on the day. The signage was good out on the course and if you had time to take in some of the views across the Solent on a crisp clear morning they were breathtaking (just like the hills!)

In short: Hilly!!
In full: A hard race but managed to get a PB with some decent training (66 mins). First mile uphill seems neverending and the hill at mile 8 nearly destroyed me, but what goes up must come down!!

In short: Very enjoyable near the back of the race.
In full: Made a weekend of it and had a lovely time. Good HQ venue with just about enough space to (cold) shower and change afterwards.
Very nice route through a few villages and across the hills, then down to the seafront. All well marked and marshalled until the very end. I was a bit confused where to go at the end as so many people had finished and were wandering around the route through to the finish line.

In short: Much better organisation this year
In full: This is a great course, with enough hills to make you work. The weather this year made it a much more enjoyable experience. The marshalling was much better this year, special mention has to be given to the guys at the Tesco roundabout, they did a fantastic job.

In short: Well organised event over a challenging course
In full: After last years problems with the course and the bad weather it was good to see that all is well with what is a solid HRRL race. It's a tough course the hill at mile 8 especially, though it's a good course.

In short: Hilly, hilly, hilly!!
In full: 1st time on this race, really enjoyed it but the hills ruined my time despite lots of preparation. I did find the start very fast, and there are a lot of very good club runners, so I know I finished towards the end. Good support from all the marshalls, good organisation on the water and sponge stations and on signage. Didin't get my medal, but am hoping it will come in the post, after all that hard work. Am planning next year's race already!!

In short: A tough slog but well worth it
In full: Loved it. Not PB material with constant ups and downs but with cracking scenery and good and friendly organisation. Well worth the trip across the Solent. Just know you will suffer on the hills!
