In short: A good laugh, well organised, a bit overcrowded at the start..
In full: A great course, very lucky with the weather, water very cold! Enjoyed this a lot, my only gripe was that, after just over a mile, the first big water obstacle was a muddy ditch that narrowed to virtually single file. Being in the second half of the field, this was like the M25 with only one lane open in the rush hour! After warming up, everyone was cold after queueing for up to 10 mins to get thro' the ditch before plunging into a thigh-deep cold puddle. I think either the numbers should be reduced, or the race started in waves, or the course re-thought a bit here, to avoid this bottleneck. Otherwise a great morning with excellent organisation.

In short: Good race to start
In full: The course was workmanlike and is pretty flat compared to Hellrunner down South. The distance was about 8.8 miles or so according to my mates GPS too, so how's that for value added? My only tiny gripe was why have the water station directly in front of a cargo net and soft mud - can't run and drink at the same time and so that was a bottle of water wasted. The first five was watery and the back three odd was really pleasant to run on - teriffic surface. The crowd were nice and the location was very good too. The weather on Saturday was much better than Sunday too, so we got the better day.

Grim 8 was really well organised - chip in the post early on as promised, good clear simple website, proper signposting from the approaches to Aldershot, decent parking, plenty of marshals and some smashing looking girls too who just got changed right in front of us which was a real crowd pleaser. To sumamrise, in eBay speak, v.smooth transaction, top org, recommended, would do business again A+++++++

In short: Not that different to a Sunday long run apart from a bit more mud and water!
In full: Definitely preferred Hellrunner to this and found this tame in comparison. Yes, there were a lot of water to run through but where was the crawling that was advertised?
The two nets that we had to "crawl" under were lifted by marshalls so we just had to bend down to get under? Expected a bit more of a "goody bag" for the price of the race. Lots of marshalls though. Well done for being cheerful in that weather!

In short: high light of the running calender every year
In full: Glad i did it on saturday as weather was fine. I rate this better fun and a challenge than the hell down south (hellrunner) which I did last month. Looking forward to next year already, medal would be nice next time!

In short: A great dirty weekend run
In full: I'm relatively new to running offroad, this being my second race (the previous one being the Hell Down South one in November). I by far preferred this one, as the organisation was top-notch, the course a little less brutally hilly (I'm used to road hills, not cliffs!), and of course plenty of mud and water to plough through.

It was very funny coming back down a track and first hearing, then seeing the rear of the field immersing themselves in one of the numerous pools. The lack of truely nasty hills means that those of a competitive nature can still attempt to place a decent time (the winner on Saturday came in a little over 50 minutes). Glad I wasn't on the Sunday leg of the race, given the weather forecast for that day!
