In short: Excellent views, no hassles, challenging course.
In full: As my local race I feel protective of it but it stands up on its own. Plenty of parking, plenty of toilets, plenty of loud speaker announcements making sure we are all in the right place, plenty of cheers at the start and then plenty of hills, plenty of freebies and bananas at the end!! This year I was beaten by two smurfs, darth vader and a storm trooper!!

In full: As one previous reviewer said, don't underestimate the hills. Scenic and challenging route. Well supported and very well organised.

In short: Btilliant organisation, tough course, a great day out
In full: Ample car parking close to start/finish, plenty of toilets, and a long / wide start area with timed zones at 15 minute intervals. No bottlenecks at any point on the course and enthusiastic, if patchy, support. Glorious route especially on such a fabulous day, but be warned it is tough and the hills just keep coming. The finish was a calm, organised affair and I think Swindon have got their numbers just right - not too big but caters for all abilities. I'll be back!!

In short: Brilliant just Brilliant
In full: wasn't expecting to get a PB but just did after a week of sneezing, coughing and feeling like s**t I managed not just beating last years time but beating my personal best for the distance even faster than Bristol 2 weeks ago which was a flatter course than this one. Feeling overwhelmed with joy.

In short: Wonderful race - except maybe for those hills
In full: I've done this race 3 times now and every time am caught out by how hard it actually is. Many uphills and quite a steep downhill which is torture after all the ups! Also a long up around mile 12 which is just cruel. :)
Having said all that, you always get a decent goody bag and t-shirt. This is the one race I've ever done that has enough toilets at the start, and plenty around the course. Strong support from villages and really nice marshals. Many offers of jelly babies along the way.
This course is much harder than any other HM I have done. I was disappointed with my time today, caused by my own foolishness of overdrinking and then getting stitches/cramps and having to walk repeatedly. I could have got away with less walking on a flatter course.
The scenery is beautiful, can't think of any ugly bits on the course. That combined with the good organisation would make me come back - but I might try just marshalling next year!
