In short: Great race - Tough hill In full: Very good race. Well organised, encouraging martials and bang on 10km (according to my gps). Martials were very good, didn't habe to stop onece for traffic or pedestrians and I loved the martial at about 8.5km - I think he was American - he was going nuts, he was great craic! I agree that a fairly big hill (and stiff wind today) makes this not great for pb potential but a very enjoyable and well run race none the less. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Nice. No major issues In full: There are tougher courses about, but it certainly wasn't one of the easier ones due to the long hill in the middle.
I thought the marshalls did a very good job managing the traffic, and they were also very encouraging. I didn't really notice any impatient drivers where I was in the pack.
I was impressed that it started almost on time and thought that the portaloo queues were absolutely fine. About the right number of runners took part. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Delightful run around pretty Wimbledon with one massive hill In full: On the coldest day in May I can ever remember due to the strong cold wind, more shelter would have been welcomed.
The organisation was good - baggage, chips, loos all fine. The course is very pretty and takes you around the common and Wimbledon back streets. Delightful. The massive hill came earlier than I was expecting, between 5k and 6k, and is very challenging, but also very satisfying once you're at the top.
I did see one competitor who kept needlessly running on the road when the pavement was empty and I think the marshalls should have challenged him about that, just for his own safety.
And I think there should have been more marshalling near the finish line to make the route to the finish line clearer. I followed the people in front and we all went wrong and added metres and metres to the race, adding on time. I feel a bit disappointed about that even though I wasn't going to get a pb.
But I very much enjoyed the race and look forward to doing it again. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Well organised, friendly event In full: Enjoyable event, even taking into account the hill halfway through. Well marshalled ~ they do a pretty good job managing the traffic seeing as the roads are not closed.
Have been to a number of events where the marshalls appear to have no interest in being there but one of the marshalls in this run came up to chat for a good few minutes at the end to see how it went, whether I enjoyed it, did I get a PB etc. A welcome positive after running a disappointing time.
Will definitely do this run again. Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Enjoyable Sunday morning run In full: Fairly well organised race with a tough hill in the middle of the run. Not great pb potential because of having to dodge horses, puddles and old ladies (plus the aforementioned large hill) but well worth getting up for. Date of review: March 9, 2011

In short: Pretty good but a few issues ! In full: Good atmosphere and reasonable organisation - starter was rambling on and then someone at the back shouted go and we seemed to be starting ! No 'layering' of expected times at the start so conjested and very slow first k which ruined many PB chances - nearly impaled on some posts that could have been better marked - friendly marshals but could have managed traffic and runners better - runners seemed to dangerously swarm across and back over some main roads in a few places with no control - tough hill after 5k but pleasant couse taking in Wimbledon Village - water stop undermanned and in too narrow a path - not really fully a road race as some parts across trail and grass - great goody bag and organisation at end and prompt prizegiving - impressive times by winners - road signs seem to be left for the day around the course !! Despite all that would still recommend as an enjoyable event ! Date of review: March 1, 2011

In short: Great Organisation and Great Goodies In full: Great organization and well Marshalled. Traffic was frustrating at times especially if your trying to run a PB. Very slow start but overall it was a good event with nice goodies at the finish line. Date of review: March 1, 2011

In short: Nice atmosphere but route the worse for wear (some muddy paths & puddles) In full: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff at registration, some charity groups which was encouraging and humane, nice goodie bags at the end Missed the clock so wondering how to get chip time. The course was very muddy and full of puddles in places, a real distraction particularly at the start. Not enough loos, missed the warm up as had to Q for about 15 mins to get to one of 10 porta-loos. Some cars around the coarse were going quite fast, a bit disconcerting. In short: Definitely worth getting up for In full: Route was a good mix of on and off road, up and down hills. Well marshalled and signposted. Having the printouts of the finish times (it was chip timed) and the photos immediately after finishing was a nice touch, as was the presentation to the winners. A bit congested at the start, but it soon evened out. Plenty of water and goody bags at the end, even for us slower ones. Plenty of portaloos and bag storage. A well organised, friendly race.
