In short: This race is Epic, and ludicrously hard. Great event

In short: Very hard, but that makes the finnish line that much more rewarding

In short: It was emotional
In full: Dr Rob you are the best - what an epic race!! A rousing National Anthem at the start, a lovely bagpiper at the top of the first hill, then 'the steps', mountainous hills, friendly marshalls, jelly babies, water, excellent cameraderie from fellow runners, bagpipes at the halfway mark, more hills, calfs are screaming, 'the steps' (again?!?!). Behold the final descent - the greatest feeling of jubilation descending to the finish line with the lady with the camelpack (I thank you!). Legs are in bits now but will be back next year!

In short: If you're looking for a nice flat half marathon...you've come to the wrong place!
In full: Crossing the road after the half way point I was hoping that I would get hit by a passing car...fortunately that didn't happen and I managed to finish. An outstanding race. I will definitely be coming back. Let's hope that the UK never hosts the Olympics again!!!

In short: More hills & miles than your average half marathon!
In full: Words cannot describe the emotions of this race, you have to do it for yourself, but be warned it is very tough, ideally have plenty of half / full marathon experience under your belt and incorporate hill training before the race.

Great personalised t-shirt, largest & heaviest unique bespoke medal I own, much needed picnic at the end, great atmosphere, appreciated the marshals with words of encouragement.

This year was a special Olympic edition which was touted as 16 miles but my app made it 17 miles & then add some more for the country miles, I reckon it felt like 20 miles on my legs. A friend had run the London marathon this year and said this was as hard as that & his times were comparable.

Only slight gripe is duplication of some of the course - I wish I didn't know what was coming next!

This is my first time & I will be doing this one again next year, this will be the first race on my calendar every year. You never know I might even go for the full picnic next year. Makes flat road HM's look boring by comparison. Recommended to everyone except beginners.

In short: Up, up, up...down, down, down... up, up up...
In full: I was very worried this was going to be way too much for me (I am no spring chicken). I had done the MM a couple of years ago and thought it the toughest race I had ever done and then to add more miles was cruel. It wasn't until the turn about point I thought I might, just might, make it. It is doing the steps and stepping stones on the return that is the killer, but then oh that run to the finish line was one of the most glorious moments ever! This is the toughest terrain but the glow of triumph made it (just) worthwhile. You do the best finishers goodies and knowing they await me if I can keep going to the finish line helped spur me on. To my fellow hardy runners thank you for being so good humoured and encouraging and the band of merry marshalls for your support. To Dr Rob and all the Trionium team thank you, but please don't do it again the usual MM is quite hard enough. After the Trionium runners have thoroughly tested the course for the cyclists over to Mark Cavendish et al to try and earn their own medals for conquering the mighty Box Hill!

In short: In a class of its own so it's always going to be a PB!
In full: My third Trionium race of the year and they just get better and better. Great organisation and extremely friendly feel from the marshals, competitors, and spectators. Well done to everyone who finished, especially those on the Picnic!
