In short: How races should be, local, friendly and fantastic
In full: A wonderful run, stunning scenery and brilliant support from all the locals supplying food on route, a really big thank you to them all, absolutely loved it and you will be pushed to find a more scenic run. Forget the pb, your garmin will probably cut out in the woods anyway but it's great.

In short: Excellent challenging trail race, lovely countryside, fantastic organisation
In full: A nicely challenging trail run in the Surrey countryside with some stunning views. Mixed terrain (the sand was tough) and some nice hills, but the whole course is runnable. The organisation and marshals were first class, and the event and atmosphere overall is very friendly. Highly recommended. Thanks to the organisers and volunteers.

In full: Great organisation - marshals seemed to be every 50 metres (thanks marshals) lots of drink stations too. The scientific recovery food at the finish line (or cake as is was known) was excellent too!

Third time of doing this race and I think I have started to enjoy these hills rather than fight them. Terrain is mixed from gnarly roots to sand beaches - always need to concentrate on obstacles, especially when the legs are getting tired. Had a few trips - despite every root and
pothole being covered in orange paint.

See you again next year

In short: Tough, hilly, sandy, beautiful and a must!
In full: This was my first ever marathon. Booked it as it was on my doorstep, then checked the route! I knew it was going to be tough and hilly and I was'nt disappointed! Very well organised, beautiful mainly off road route. Great medal, t-shirt and 2013 calendar with the highlights of the route. If you want something different then I would recommend this!

In short: This aint no flat, road marathon...
In full: If you want to enter your first marathon, where the organisers have it bang on, then this is the one for you but be warned, this is no flat, monotonous road race, but a grown-up trail run with magnificent scenery and wildlife on the North Downs between Farnham and Guilford. Epic!..

I found it tough going this year, but the crowd support, marshals and the trails just keeps you going so, in short, this is the toughest marathon you'll do in the area. If you are a trail runner, you'll love this for the variety of terrain and has enough hills and potentially mud if it were a wet day, to keep you interested. Thoroughly recommend this one. Maybe it will be a wet one next year to make it even more challenging. :-)
