In short: Worth doing if you know what to expect
In full: Having done the race last year, I knew that it would involve 3 twisty laps of a course that wriggled around the Don Valley Stadium with a couple of short, sharp inclines and the chance to blast a lap or 3 on the track of the biggest athletics stadium in Britain. It is also worth knowing that there are no kilometre or mile markers to be seen although there are plenty of marshalls to make the course clear.

I entered on-line and didn`t receive anything through the post but rather I got a last minute email 2 days before the event to give me the information that I needed. This year I thought the event was better because it was a part of the Sheffield athletics festival which brought quite a good amount of spectators by the time we were finishing. It also attracted a couple of big name female runners.

For your money, you get a very quick (by South Yorks standards) course with PB potential and the chance to run at a tremendous stadium plus a festival t-shirt. I`ll (probably) be back.

In short: A sunny race!!
In full: As many others have stated the fact you get to run round a track is great and with the Sun shining the family had a great time watching the pole vaulters as I negotiated the 3 laps. I'd say there were inclines rather than hills along the way that gets your legs working. I got a PB(which Im sure was down to the Track!!)and had a great Sunday morning. Will do again as in Sheffield but am sure there are more scenic events around

In short: Inspiring run !
In full: Made the trip from York and was not dissapointed ! It was a pleasure to run for parts of the race on the Don Valley athletics track, where so many great athletes have competed over the years. My only grip in common with other reviewers, was that there were no k markers, this was regrettable and is obviously something that can easily be remedied. The course offers runners a excellent opportunity to record a pb, but pacing it right is key and without k markers, it is made a little bit more difficult.

In short: Well organised, very family friendly venue, no loo queues!
In full: Really like this races, for the second year running. Son liked the funrun as did I. On the downside it has to be mile markers, there should be some. Not an inspiring route but good pb potential. Nice family friendly venue for everyone including spectators.

I liked the Lord Mayor, he told me he thought the medium t-shirt would be too big and insisted I had the small! He'd get my vote, regardless of the tattoo!

In short: Quite boring. 3 laps of the park and athletics track. PB material for most.
In full: Bit of a rip-off at £12 unattached. They don't have to organise a great deal because the run takes place on the area surrounding the stadium and within. Got myself a PB for the year but i don't think i will do it again.

In short: Flat course - X2 laps of the park
In full: The traffic into the park was a nightmare but from 2010 I think there is a different event organiser.
