In short: Lacked atmosphere and mile markers were shoddy
In full: As many reviews have said the mile markers were all over the place, which made some stretches very demoralising. Also there was not much race atmosphere, with it being an out of town race and with such a small number of entries it made it quite a dull run.

In short: Quite challenging but good strong running.
In full: Major problems were the lack of atmosphere for most of the run and the hopeless Mile markers early in the race, without my Garmin i would have made some serious mis judgements as to pace.

In short: A good race through country lanes
In full: The event is low key but well organised for a small event. You are never going to get big crowds on country lanes. The mile markers were suspect but I could take a 4:30 mile after 5 "miles" of a half - the 12:00 for the previous "mile" was demoralising. The trick was to look for the paint on the road, the distances appeared more reliable. Well done to Retford for a friendly race.

In short: Not enough runners to create a good atmosphere
In full: With a race limit of only 500 to have 113 not turn up is a shame. This coupled with the route Being mainly in the country and with very few people at the end meant that this was a very low key event with almost no atmosphere. Thanks to the marshals and water crews and the young lass with the cow bell for their encouragement.Over 400m of ascent puts it on the hilly side of undulating. Anyone without a GPS watch would have had a terrible time working out their pace as the mile markets through to mile 9 (I think) were all over the place.A bit perplexed about where the finish line was as I stopped my watch at the arch with the time matching the timer exactly but they added 2 secs to it?

In short: Good stuff!
In full: Very good race. Only real moan was the final roundabout which could have used a marshall (or given the amount of traffic, 2 or 3).

Keep up the good work East Retford Rugby Club!

In short: Very friendly and well organised, extremely enjoyable
In full: A pretty flat course with just a few undulations. The markers were a bit erratic - 5 mile marker in particular was quite a way out of place, I think.

In short: Great race - but the 'mile' markers need sorting
In full: Good race this - nice feel to it.

Just one gripe - the mile markers. They were all over the shop (especially the first half).

Apart from that top marks

Well done
