In short: Well supported half marathon In full: Undulating course with some scenic parts, good support from spectators. Easy parking and small queues for toilets. Like new date - post London. Well organised and for a city half of this size quite good value - although. I returned after 2 years abscence due to "race clashes" but will be back next year - hopefully a bit cooler! Well done Coventry! Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: A great experience as always. Great support and organisation. In full: This was my third (and slowest) attempt at this half marathon but I'll be back again next year. Not the most scenic of races but the supporters and organisation were as great as ever. Thanks. PS Can it be cooler next year please?! Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: Let's hear it for the results team In full: I support most of the previous comments - AND I was very impressed to have my times texted within 15 minutes of finishing. Also brilliant to have results on-line when I go back home. Even better if club runners and age groups could be sorted from results. Great day Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: Great atmosphere...but..... In full: Super tight having to buy a T-Shirt?? The change from October ruined most peoples experience as it was far too hot. There was no water at the start and even though this was the hottest day of the year, the first water station was at 3 miles?? Thw worst goody bag I have seen. Having siad this, the people of Coventry were fantastic and make it worth coming back, I just feel the organisers have looked tosave money in every aspect of this event :-( Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: Fantastic organisation, brilliant atmosphere, special race In full: Very enjoyable run, never knew how scenic Coventry was. Support all the way round, lots of water stations & hosepipes. Very nice medal & even got a text telling me my finishing time within half an hour of finishing, brilliant. Congratulations to everyone involved, will be back next year. Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: Well done Cov!! In full: Jeez...I think we all did well to survive this one on what must have been the hottest day of the year! My 2nd time here and loved it as much as the 1st, even if I was 13 minutes slower this time!
So well organised, lovely atmosphere, brilliant marshalling, water stops and road closures and nice medal. But the thing that really makes this race is the local support - they really get behind you, supply bananas/choc/cheese (I kid you not) and thank god for all those hosepipes yesterday!! The people of Cov make this race great.
Bargain value for money at £16 entry and it does Coventry proud. Must admit I prefered the Oct date but can understand the move and will definitely be back next year (but praying for coller weather!) Date of review: May 24, 2010
In short: What a Scorcher ! In full: Very well organised, bit stingy not having a tee shirt at the end though. This was very very tough with the heat and I could not have got to the end without the wonderful support from the crowd - well done all Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: Hot Half - Both the weather and the run itself :) In full: Geez that was tough today! It's not a really hard course but proper felt like it was today 'cos of the heat. I agree though that it now belongs in May as the local Half / marathon list is too clogged up in October. To be fair don't think it's gonna be that hot every year.
Superb organisation as always, superb crowds, having them kids with water guns and hose pipes was very welcoming. It's always a well supported half and the people of Cov should be very proud of themselves :)
It's my 3rd Coventry half in a row now and I don't see why i wouldn't be back for a 4th next year :)
Well done Coventry :) Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: Hot would be an understatement In full: It wasn't ideal conditions for people in fancy dress today (yet when is it ever?) It was really hot and the course is so up and down that you struggle to get into a rhythm. I do doff my cap to the people of Cov because they make this race. The support was magnificent throughout and made a real difference. I saw a lot of people walking / stopping and heard reports of people walking away before the start, discouraged by the heat. I think this will alwways be an issue if the race s held in May. I'm in favour of earlier spring or autumn. Date of review: May 23, 2010
