In short: Faultless and friendly
In full: A very well organised event with a good atmosphere. Lots of water stations, nice medal and t-shirt, good photos, enough spectators to give you a lift every now and then, good communication from organisers....nothing to bring it down really. The course is fast but is not exciting, however there were enough runners and supported to always have someone around for a chat. I will enter next year for sure

In short: You don't have to do a big-city marathon to get that winning feeling...
In full: It was clear from soon after the race was announced that the organisers were serious about putting on a professional race, and they succeeded. I got the impression that they understood what runners want out of a race in terms of the whole experience and delivered it on the day. If they were to run this in April, I would have to think very hard about whether I did London or this one.

In short: Its 26 miles at the end of the day, its never going to be easy!!
In full: Although i regularly run shorter races, this was my first marathon and i was very pleased with the experience. The out and back nature of the run will not suit everybody but i found it alright, when i do another (which this race has inspired me to do) i will be able to compare to a circuit format.

Was more suport than i was expecting although it was difficult for my girlfriend to see much of me due to not knowing the area or small roads leading along the route as the roads were shut-but all to the benefit of the runners so im not complaining! Water from bottles every 2 miles and Isotonic drinks every 4 or 5 miles i think were also appreciated.

Only draw back for about 24 hours was that my results didnt appear on the results on the website. Took the wind out of my excitement of looking to see how i had done but an email later and it had all been corrected so no long term grudge!

Best summary is that I would give it another go next year, well done for their first attempt!!

In short: Well organised low key race
In full: The support at the finish was great especially as I need some assistance after I finished. Also, I didn't have to wait too long for the post race massage. I found the route ok (ish) although it was hardly exciting. The supporters that turned out were great, really friendly and supportive, although there were not very many of them. The medal and t-shirt are great and it is the only t-shirt I've had from any race that I will be able to use in training (a nice technical tee).

Collecting numbers on the day ok (could have collected on the day before but was not travelling until the day of the race) but would prefer them to be posted so that I can go through my usual ritual of pinning the number to my top the night before and not stressing when the flippin' thing would not go on straight an hour before the race.
