In short: Well organised, scenic and well supported in places. Hillier than you think.
In full: Couldn't fault the organisation both before and during the event. Plenty of enthusiastic marshals and plenty of water stations along the way. Support where present was good, with a great finish along the race course. Nice goody bag as well. Also to have the organisers Chris and Andy shake your hand at the finish was a really really nice touch.

The only downside was that it was a bit more hilly than I thought. If you can find a way round the hill at mile 24 I might just be back!

In short: Excellent marathon, I would highly recommend
In full: Chester was my first Marathon and I loved the experience. The start is within walking distance of the city centre. The race was well marshalled and the crowds provided good support. The course was undulating, scenic and a perfect challenge. I will certainly be running it again.

In short: Top class event from gun to tape
In full: Just a 1st class event.
From the tented village, to the catering for kids while the race on, to the massive enthusiasm of the marshals, to the superb organisation out on the course. The locals really came out to support everyone.
Of 26 1/2s and 4 full mrathons i've done, by FAR the best. Take a bow Andy & Chris and the people of Chester.
The route is mainly flat, just one small hill at 24 miles to contend with, but from the picturesque sights of Chester to the loads of villages we ran through, everyone was so encouraging especially coming over the river at Farndon, and the corner in Holt!
Cannot wait to attempt it again.
Oh and a handshake at the finish, so many little touches that make this event, although big, seem so personal, enter it, run it, you will LOVE it!

In short: Brilliantly organised, lovely route and fantastic support on the course
In full: This race was really well organised and there was great support throughout the course. Your name had been printed on your race number which was a fantastic boost as supporters could cheer you on by calling out your name. Regular drinks stations, a fast course, and perfect weather! Would definitely recommend this race to both new and seasoned marathon runners.

In short: Chester's the marathon to do
In full: Great day, great race, organisation second to none, including water stations, baggage etc. Locals were all out in force cheering us on, keeping us going. Will definitely be back near year and look forward to the half in May 2013.

In short: Well organised race with fantastic crowd support and very friendly marshalls. Some hills but still has a great PB potential. Some really great touches such as children singing along the route which gave it a great family feel. I

In short: Logistics of this race are much simpler than bigger marathons - out and back and plenty of parking nearby. There are a few little hills and just the right amount of runners to keep you going without getting in the way.
