In full: My second 10k race so far, but i managed to shave a whopping 18 minutes off my previous time, so i was really pleased with that. Excellent water station and support marshals. Incredibly muddy in parts.... But what's a little bit of mud? The scenery was amazing, i just love the hills. If i am around next year, will definitely take part! Date of review: June 16, 2012
In short: A fabulous little race! In full: Made the trip down from Birmingham in search of a mid week challenge; really pleased I did. Excellent organisation and a very fine course, with quite a bit of cheeky uphill and suitably challenging but runnable terrain, with a ford thrown in for good measure. BBQ and a bottle of applejuice at the end. Recommended! Date of review: June 14, 2012
In short: A warm malvern wellcome.... In full: Forget your pb that goes at mile 1 with the styles and single file, just admire the scenery.Plenty of ups a nice few downs, tarmac, grass, mud and a ford to plough through, marshalls a plenty and very vocal great midweek run with a bbq to round off the night. In short: tough but very enjoyable In full: Really lovely course, varied terrain and scenery, friendly encouraging marshalls, good free food at the finish, special edition local apple juice in the goodie bag. A few stiles you had to queue to get over and a section through a rape field which was single file with no chance to overtake, plus some very muddy sections, and anyway the hills pretty much rule out PBs, so a race to do as a fun midweek challenge. And the weather was kind! Date of review: June 14, 2012
In short: A truly fantastic event -- yet again! In full: This was my second time participating in the Malvern Joggers 10k. I was in two minds about running at all, having suffered with some nasty injuries of late, but I'm so glad I did. The scenery was even better than I remembered it -- the gradual ascent towards the picturesque priory, the alluring sparkle of the water at Gullet Quarry, the breathtaking panoramic views of the Malvern Hills (I could go on!). Even the course wasn't as brutal as I'd remembered it! There are a couple of long uphill 'drags' but nothing to bring you to your knees (as long as you're sensible!). Given that this is not a PB course, I would recommend you run well within your limits and concentrate on taking in the surroundings.
The organisation was flawless, once again. The marshals were vocal and supportive and the signage was crystal clear. Your bib entitles you to a free hot dog (meat or veggie!) and the goodie bags contained a big bottle of delicious local apple juice.
We were lucky with the weather this year -- perfect temperatures and largely clear skies which made for fantastic views.
If you've never run this race before, what in the world are you waiting for?! Date of review: June 14, 2012
In full: Malvern joggers were so friendly, making me feel a part o even though it was my second 10k and I was near the back. The stewards and back pacers were encouraging all the way round, making sure everyone got round the hills Date of review: June 19, 2011
In short: Perfect In full: Was a very well organised event, very friendly helpful marshals, nice course with a good mixture of surfaces, not going to be a quick run but defiantly worth doing and a nice mug and T-shirt at the end, not sure if you were supposed to have both but the marshal said I could so good times. BBQ was a superb bonus – mega tasty! Great value event! Date of review: June 17, 2011
