In short: Great race for beginners. Over subscribed / not well marshalled
In full: Royal Parks 2012....
Done this run since 2009 and ech year the events get bigger and harder to get into.
Brilliant scenery and PB potential is there. Atmospere is brilliant, exactly like the London Marathon.
Downside - far too many people.
Pens for runner are not controlled.. was speaking in the 1:45hr group, hoping to finish in 2.30..
Marshalling is poor on course.. spectators trying to play dodgems with runners...
And it feels that the Royal Prks have sold the majority of the places to the charities - far too corporate, and not about the runners!!!!!
Finally baggage area, still too far away from finish line!!!

In short: Love this race
In full: Well this one was my first ever Half Marathon in 2011, and was my 10th Half Marathon this year - it holds a firm place in my heart and again it exceeded expectations.
Organisation seamless from ballot to receiving medals and simply a lovely race to run.
Marshalls are great fun with even the one on Whitehall who reminded us all to "think of Eye of the Tiger" and "What would Rocky do?" ....quality and made me chuckle.
Well done to the organisers again for another splendid race

In short: Good fun, well run
In full: I really enjoyed this race. The sun was out and I managed to get away from the start line reasonably well. The crowding wasn't too bad. I really enjouyed the course. Running donw the Mall was special.

In short: Outstanding event
In full: Was worried that the volume of people would make the first part of the run slow but once you got away from the start line you had enough room to get right into your desired pace. This is a great race with a fantastic route and atmosphere.

In short: Love it
In full: One of the best half marathons I have ever done, very difficult to get in and very expensive too!! Hope to be able to get a place again next year as unfortunately would never be able to run for a charity and raise the amounts asked.
Same old issues with queues at loos and baggage areas, best to give it an hour as race starts sharp!

In short: Beautiful scenic run, amazing experience
In full: This was my second time running this half marathon and it didn't disappoint. Few issues with toilet queue and baggage queue, but I think I should have just allowed more time. Fabulous support by the crowds, lots of water stations, other runners were sensible and make sure to throw water bottles off the road out of the way. Great medal and t-shirt. Love this race and hopefully I will be back next year.
