In short: Flat; undulating; steep uphill; undulating; superb view; down; up; down; flat. In full: A superb event. A challenging climb, a beautiful view; a fun descent; a short cruel hill and another fun descent; the hardest bit is really the flat 2 miles at the end. Great organisation and a handy technical shirt. To answer the question about ascent, a clubmate tracked the race on GPS, nearly 400ft climb (profile follows, assuming this does not get edited out):

In short: Great as always In full: Great as always, splendid views especially as you come down towards pitstone hill. The last 1 mile on the road is hard though. 9.7M, but does anyone know how much ascent ? i would guess about 200-300M ? Date of review: October 10, 2011

In short: Absolutely Brilliant In full: My first Ridgeway and I loved it! A lot of my fellow club members from Northampton Road Runners have done this event before and talked very highly of it. We had about 20 members there on Sunday so it certainly shows the popularity from our crew.
The organisation was spot on with loads of parking and good facilities.
The marshals were very friendly and encouraging (special mention to the enthusiastic younger helpers too).
The course was stunning and had everything! Ok, it was a little congested at the start but once we passed that lane, the climb onto the Ridgeway was a lovely challenge and the views at the top were amazing. The final decent through the woods was exhilarating too and then a fast finish with plenty of support dotted around.
Oh and then to cap it all, a great technical t-shirt (I wasn't expecting that).
Will I be back next year...you bet!

In short: Another great Ridgeway Run from TRC In full: 8th Ridgeway Run for me and still loving this race. Silky smooth organisation combined with a really nice route. Well done to the RD and his team. The only slight downside for me this year was the price of a bacon sarnie in the clubhouse which at £3 was steeper than the run up to the monument!
