In short: Though the route was ghoulish in places (!) the welcome and organisation was second to none - fabulous race
In full: Perfect cross-country weather - RAIN! However, despite the weather and the various ghoulish masks (it was Halloween after all) the welcome from the volunteers/organisers was very warm. As only my 3rd race of this distance the terrain was hard going at times (up hills in the soggy sand mainly) but was great to be on a course that was 99.9% off road.

Big thank you to the organisers and volunteers who sat/stood through the rain whilst the competitors ran around enjoying themselves. Definitely will do this again :)

In short: Very well marked, excellent marshalling, nice halloween touches & challenging course
In full: A very good start to an inaugral race that was very well marked. No issues with guessing where the route goes. Very clear. Mildly challenging with a good mix of terrain. No fancy refinements at the end, just raw racing typical of most good x-c events. However, perhaps category prizes, hot drinks and a little food would be a bonus if the race is to develop in the future as this would probably attract a bigger field and make it more atmospheric. Some people prefer this, others like the 'raw' element. Nice to see all the children out contributing to the event and shouting encouragement whilst dressed in halloween custumes. Well done to all. I'll be back and will encourage others to enter. Thanks again to everyone involved in making the event happen.

In short: Perfect - don't change anything!
In full: An excellent race on a challenging (but not masochistic) and picturesque course with lovely people marshalling in fancy dress and hallowe'en themed stuff all around the course.

I loved it. Will definitely be back if you're running the race next year.

In short: Very well organised - well balanced trail run - more runners needed as field spreads out quite quickly
In full: Just the right amount of hills, sand, mud, rocks, roots. The climbs were not too long so I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Very good marshalling but more runners would have improved the atmosphere. Very good signposting and distance markers but where did the 9 mile sign go to just when I needed it?

In short: Tough but enjoyable
In full: My first trail run I have taken part in and was it hard. Didn't help that I misread it was 10 miles rather then 10k. Despite my aching muscles the scenery was lovely and marshalling very supportive. Well done to everyone, i'll be back.

In short: Great event, I'll run it agailn and recommend it to to all who like off road events.
In full: Great venue, the course was well thought out, well marked and with excellent marshalling. But for £12 I would expect the medal to have the name of the event on it, and for there to be prizes for the winners.

In short: Superb inaugural event
In full: A no frills challeging off roader with pleasant rugged scenery. Route is well marked out with plenty of marshals with a nice friendly atmosphere despite the rain.

In short: Stunning scenery & treacle [oops sand!]
In full: Amazing run with just the right amount of hills, sand, mud, sand, rocks, roots & yet more wet sandy hills. Yippie. Thoroughly enjoyable trail run. Thanks to the fab marshals in halloween masks for being so cheery despite the weather. Well done BVR.
