In short: Attractive scenery and well-organised.... snd the hills are a killer! In full: I enjoyed this race - it was hard work on the hills but the scenery made it worthwhile. It was well organised with plenty of friendly staff, although I have felt more sense of occasion and atmosphere at the start of other races...
Give it a go though - you'll enjoy the challenge! Date of review: November 8, 2011
In short: Flattish compared to where I come from but well organised with great marshalls. In full: The long stretches of road were not my favourite as I do prefer off-road but I am really glad I did it. The PA calling out my number as I came into the final field was good as I wasn't sure how much further I had to go and was pretty much ready to stop (getting over a chesty cough and not doing my best work at all). The bags of oranges that were passed out were a nice touch. The weather was great too and I am looking forward to trialling my technical tee. Date of review: November 7, 2011
In short: Great race, well organised In full: Challenging course, well marshalled and sign posted. Quality T shirt for a change too. Very smoothly run. Could do with on-line entries next year and as has been said more toilets, but those are minor gripes. See you next year Barton. Date of review: November 7, 2011
In short: Good turn out as this is only the second year. In full: A great course with something for everyone, some nice hills to give you something to think about. The weather gods were looking down on Barton for the race which was great. Spoke to a lot of the runners and they all enjoyed the course and were looking forward running again next year. The race was well organised and the Marshals were excellent. Well done to all involved. Date of review: November 7, 2011
In short: Great organisation, friendly, good atmosphere In full: Weather was kind again. Surprisingly for an undulating course, many runners said they had a PB. Must be the encouragement from the onlookers. Date of review: November 7, 2011
In full: Hilly but as a novice runner a excellant challenge. Fantastic views.and fantastic Marshalls,Encouraging too.Defo for next year. The sports massage at the end a must too. Those guys were fab and passed on advise too. Date of review: November 7, 2011
In short: Well done again B&D, This is a must do race in North Lincs and E.Yorks In full: I cant heap enough praise on the organisers, the race went like clockwork and they booked the weather too. Yes the course in undulating but its fair and what goes up does come back down again. Seen lots of PB's on run britain and i was no exception taking 50 secs off and going under 45 mins for the first time, so this is NOT a slow course...
the previous review mentioned toilets, agree more needed for next year.. apart from that faultless, cracking Technical T shirt, cakes and sports massage at the end... WELL DONE ALL & See you next year :) Date of review: November 6, 2011
In short: hills and heat In full: I am glad that Barton AC were able to put this event on again after its introduction last year. The course remains a hilly challenge - one of those races where the downs don't seem to quite compensate for the ups. Good to have bottles of water on the course. Plenty of helpful marshalls. Good PA at the end to lend encouragement. Nice touch to have cakes for the runners at the drinks station at the finish. Good quality technical tshirt (although it might have worked better to have the tshirt collection point closer to the finish. I saw a few people wandering around looking for them).
If the race gets larger portable loos are going to be required (1 cubicle is simply not enough for 200 men). Date of review: November 6, 2011
