In full: first time i have done it and loved it. Its not a beast but dont think that it has pb potential unless you never do a flatty. The announcer speaking welsh (how many of the welsh understand it!) gave the event a Gavin and Stacey feel! But this did give a certain uniqueness to the event! Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Best Half of the Year bar None In full: Best race of the year, once again perfect weather. Tough as old boots as ever, The Orme and the sand make it a slog, but will book again next year for our annual pre Chrimbo pilgrimage to the Motherland
In full: Great race today in perfect conditions. Never done this one before if it's windy I can imagine the great orme being a real struggle. I don't think the great orme was too difficult except for maybe the last bit, but the run down gives you chance to make some time back.
My only gripes are: 1) no where near enough toilets at start 2) hate water out of those little cups with foil on 3) medal crap, and no goody bag Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: A nice Half Marathon In full: A good race again this year, well organised. However,no goody bag at the end? All that was on offer at the end was a bottle of Lucozade or water! The biscuit box was a nice touch last year. I was seriously low on energy levels at the end and something to eat would have been good! For the price, a goody bag should be included. I also don't think the medals are as good a quality as the ones given out in years gone by!I enjoyed this race though and the Great Orme was as brutal as ever! Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Great scenic course and organisation In full: 4th time out and a new pb. Shows that although it has a hill it can be quick. Another beautiful sunny day for a stunning course with castle, sea views and lap of the great Orme to boot. great organisation. A cracking event all round Date of review: November 21, 2012
In short: This is the best Half you will ever run In full: Another PB on this course and finally got it under the 1:40 mark. A change of course to make sure the congestion on the cycle path didn't happen, but it was still busy for the first 3 miles and only then could you break away. Everything about this race was perfect apart from the change of location to pick up your numbers. If it had been raining then it would have been a very wet cold affair, along with having to queue for your medal and T-Shirt, rather than handing them out at the end like last year when you crossed the line. I feel this was because they did not have medals for the people who entered late so needed to check that those people didn't get one. Date of review: November 20, 2012
