In short: Well organised race on challenging and picturesque route. In full: Most of the reviews have said it all. A thoroughly enjoyable event on tough terrain, but totally traffic-free and very picturesque (if you can appreciate the scenery through muddy eyes, misty from the effort!). Great to have to kids fun run too, my 10 year old really loves her first ever finisher's medal. Well done to the first-time organisers. Date of review: February 26, 2011
In short: Deserves to be run again. Testing route mostly on private farmland. In full: Congratulations to the organisers for this terrific new race. I run around this area a lot but had no idea where I was much of the time as the course meandered around lumpy and quite muddy farmland that is usually closed off. The extra effort to run the kids races is well worth it. My daughter loved her 1K run around the Pony Field and especially the results and medal in the post afterwards. In short: Great race, great location In full: The 4K was a really lovely idea. Managed to get my 12 year old out of bed and finished. Sense of real achievement. The marshalls were great and amazingly enthusiastic. Would highly recommend. Date of review: February 24, 2011
In full: What a fantastic race and extremely well organised. I generally run a race each weekend and have done for years and I have to say that this is probably one of the best if not the best 10k I have ever run. Superb scenary and completely traffic free. I could have taken part in my home town Brighton half marathon that day but an sick of the boring coastal course. I definately made the right choice to travel to this race. Looking forward to competing next year. Date of review: February 23, 2011
In short: Enjoyed it very much In full: Hard work but a good course with hills and some stickiness but not much real mud. A very well organised run. I hope it continues. Date of review: February 21, 2011
In short: A good new event In full: Definitely undulating with a few flat stretches for light relief. Entirely off road on fallow fields and bridleways - except for Ebbisham Lane. Fields were sticky, bridleways were very muddy in places but that's to be expected at this time of year. Overall, a nicely challenging route. On a clear day there would've been some excellent views across the Downs; sadly it was a little murky today.
Standard medal to all finishers with engravers on site for anyone who wanted to pay £4 to have personal details added. The refreshments cabin made an excellent bacon buttie and very welcome cup of tea.
Congratulations to the organisers for putting on a good new event. Date of review: February 20, 2011
In short: Friendly atmosphere tempered by tough hills! In full: great race, really friendly atmosphere and great touches with the fun runs and the 4k - all in there was probably 5 generations involved across the different events!
Next time I'll come better prepared for the hill between km 6-8... I thought it was never going to end! :) Date of review: February 20, 2011
