In short: One of the friendliest races I've ever participated in In full: The undulating first half is physically challenging, whereas the sometimes rather lonely second half is more mentally challenging. That said, this has to be one of the friendliest races I've ever run in, with some of the front runners urging me on as I plodded through the second half. And the marshalls are just fantastic. Getting a name check and a 'good luck for the rest of the race!' comment as I ran past the Half Mara finish was a lovely touch. Nice to get a goody bag with no rubbish in it: tshirt, medal, energy drink, bar, packet of crisps. Excellent value for money, and a race that Thanet RC can be very proud of. In short: Bit of everything alongside brilliant marshalls, great day out In full: Well worth adding to your running calendar
Race is one off two halfs, first half is mildly challenging with a few slopes up and down. Shared with the half marathon runners so temptation is to run too fast.
Second half is largely flat and runners spaced out so challenge is different but equally testing.
Scenary is good and varied although if you dont like views of the sea then this isnt the race for you.
Marshalls are great among best of any race I have done. Lots of aid stations.
Medal and T shirt added to aid stations make this great value

In short: One of the best races in the country In full: Everything is jsut so incredibly well put together. From the information packs, the course, the water stations, the brilliant marshalls, the announcer, the prizes. A massive well done to TRAC. An excellent example of how it should be done. Brilliant. In short: Brilliant scenery, everyone was super friendly, harldy noticed the hills. In full: Thank you for a fantastic race. More than enough water and gels throughout, marshals and locals very encouraging, great sea-side town. Never really noticed the hills as I was enjoying taking the first half of the marathon easy. Last hill pretty short :) Date of review: September 6, 2011

In short: Faultless . a stunning coastal marathon, an hour from London In full: Thoroughly enjoyed this one, from the magnificent scenery in the first half, to the old dears in deckchairs complementing my legs in the second! Marshalling was superb and the goody bag and t-shirt, cosidering the entry price, superb. I applaud trrac for banning the use of headphones and I think one of the results was more fellow runner banter than perhaps i'm used to! Thanks marshalls, spectators and trr for a perfect day. In short: First Marathon and going back for more.... "NEXT!!!" In full: Quite a tight start to the race with everyone packed in like sardines, although everyone appeared to soon find their rightful pace.
I was warned by the Canterbury Harriers coach to expect a tougth first half of the marathon, and it certainly didn't disappoint as I thought I was on a roller coaster for a moment I was up, and down that much!!! Although I don't say that in a bad way as I love a challenge and NEVER sherk a hill.
Second half, as people have already said, was mostly flat as a pan-cake ALTHOUGH it was flat with a heavy head wind at times, and made it feel like I was running into a wind tunnel.
All in all it was a great race day, organisation was near perfect, had a few great spectators and all the Marshalls did an outstanding job. I'm already looking forward to 2012's event, and many more future full marathons. Date of review: September 5, 2011

In short: Great race with great organisation. In full: This is my second time doing the Kent Coastal. It is a great race well organised with amazing marshal support all the way round. Loads of water in bottles and gels. Found it tough going but that reflects my lack of training. Will be back with a few more miles done before hand. Date of review: September 5, 2011

In short: challenging race, perfect organisation In full: had a tough one (a word of thanks to one of the marshalls at 22m(?) who prompted me to restart running!) but race is fairly faultless. First half incredibly scenic, second is all flat but a tough mental challenge out on the seafront. thanks to all. Date of review: September 5, 2011
