In short: Great 1 lap course, competitive field and super friendly organisation. Worth getting up for on a cold Sunday AM:) In full: Next to no traffic on quiet country roads, very well organised. Bacon Butties at the finish and a monster table of cake! Well done Lions club. Date of review: February 24, 2013
In short: Fab organisation, EXCELLENT marshalling, very friendly and AMAZING cakes at the end :) In full: Only downside not enough toilets at the start. Great to have the school open to accommodate as this year very cold so plenty of indoor space to wait. Will definately do again though and great to see results near enough as soon as we got back into the school. T-shirt fine, but would have liked a medal instead (but that's just me as I have accumulated plenty of t-shirts over the years!) Date of review: February 24, 2013
In short: A very very nice local race that is managed extremely well In full: First time here, but definitely be here again. Great organisation from some super friendly people who want nothing more than a fun and yet professional event. The weather helped no end - the course was good too, and enough of a challenge to make sure you tried hard, burned calories and if you were good enough earn a pb - which I did! thanks Winslow! In short: Great first 10k In full: First 10k, so opted for a local race that friends had already competed in and I knew what to expect.
Can only echo what others have already said about the event - positives: the scenery was lovely (but I knew that!), great support from people along the route, the scouts at the water station were great (apologies those that got wet, not having perfected running and grabbing cups!), the marshalls were great and the cakes were well beyond the standard of even a fantastic tea shop - best ever!!
Negatives? The start was a bit chaotic (all of a sudden people were running) and it wasn't clear where the finish "line" was, so many of us raced to the end of the chute, about 20m beyond the line itself.
In short: A good test In full: This is a very enjoyable one lap 10k that can be testing at times, especially the hill in the last 1k. But it is a very pleasant run the North Bucks that can generally be described as mildly undulating. Plenty of friendly marshalls and excellent cakes galore at the finish. I would agree with the small gripes raised so far. The start needs organising better. My garmin was 6 seconds out from the official time, that was how long it took to realise the race had started...and the finsh line needs marking. But these are small issues for what is a very good run and well worth doing. Date of review: February 27, 2012
In short: Relaxed, friendly, nice In full: It felt more uphill than downhill but I know that can't be true. Pleasant scenery throughout and the weather was perfect. Well organised and well marshalled. I was on target for the time I set myself but the last hill scuppered my chances. I bought two slices of cakes - really nice. Date of review: February 27, 2012
