In short: Beautiful race, well organised, great freebies!
In full: This is not a fast course on narrow trails with lots of ups and a few downs in the first nine miles, followed by a great coast into the finish for the remaining four. However, if you're looking for a friendly training race in a beautiful setting that's very well organised (although an earlier water stop would be good). This one is hard to beat. Also this year the freebies were great - energy drinks and enough haribo starmix to last the journey home!

In short: great scenery, great route - a 'must do'
In full: relly enjoyed this: the hills were not as bad as feared, the scenery was fantastic, no cars, and chip timing. Only slight gripe is the placement of the first water station - at the bottom of the steepest bit of the course. Not really wehre you want to break rhythm. Maybe an extra one would have helped too.

One of the best halves anywhere. Already pencilled in for next year.

In short: Excellent test; a privilege to run in such beautiful surroundings
In full: One moan - water station on mile 4. You really don't want to be gulping water before a nasty slope!
The local support was brilliant. I train on the course and never get bored of running around it; purely on location. Well done everybody concerned.

In short: Uphill lasts for 9 miles, there's a thought...
In full: With the poor organisation surrounding the water stations, it really left me on a downer. The scenery was beautiful and the welcome was friendly, if only they could have made more effort in informing all about the distance of the water stations. I am a seasoned runner who also takes all the responsibility for not carrying any water. I would suggest there are better races to start for beginners.

In short: Very good event
In full: A big mix of runners seemed to be in this race. The organisation/marshalling was very good and there was some nice support. It was great to be off roads for a change and running through the forest. There were 2 or 3 short and sharp climbs between 4 and 9 miles but the last 4 were largely downhill. Nice straight down to the finish as well. The medal slightly disappointng but cold lucozade drink and sweets were very good. Would do again if possible.

In short: Lovely race, very well organised for a small event
In full: I really enjoyed this half-marathon, mainly because the course is wonderful. Also, for a small race the organisation was great - chip timing, clear instructions and goodies at the end!
