In short: perfect pre-marathon preparation (I hope)
In full: The car park was already getting full by the time I arrived half an hour before the race start but it was well signed and there were others that may have been less busy. The marshals were great helping me find the loos in the Leisure Centre and then the start. Indeed throughout the race, their support and encouragement was second to none. The weather was a relentless dampening drizzle and the wind seemed never to be behind me. I was very unsettled by cars on one section (that we had to do twice) that seemed to roar past far too close and too fast. Nevertheless, a great race to prove to myself that the LFM in less than a month isn't going to be as painful as I had once feared

In short: Great training run for Paris!
In full: A very wet day and we got lost on the way there arriving 20 minutes late. But very helpful marshalls pointed us in the right direction. Good mix of runners, many using it as a training run for London, Paris or Edinburgh. Great enthusiastic watering points with plenty water and orange juice. Lots of toilet options at the end and a great cup of tea and piece of cake for £1!

In short: Perfect London build up
In full: Just got back. The weather was a bit grim - the marshalls weren't! They were very friendly and did an excellent job. Gently undulating course that, on a brighter day would have been quite beautiful. Some of the route was a bit random - at one point we were jogging between lines of cars in a car park - but that was fine. A few car drivers were all too ready to splash runners unfortunate enought to be by puddles at crucial moments, but you'll always get that sort of motorist I suppose! Good water stations - practically spot on mile markers, nice tea and cake at the end, easy, free parking. Thumbs up! ;)

In short: Great established race
In full: The second time I've done this race and it is top notch. Very well organised, lots of friendly marshalls, lots of water stations doing water and squash. A top race.

I would love a T-shirt as well as a medal to show off my exploits and I'd happily pay for it.

In short: Great Gauge for London
In full: Lots of positives from this race; Marshals were fab and encouraging, mile markers and signs for water and warning drivers that runners are on the road were a plenty and very visible. Nice and cheap entry, non too strenuous course and nice support early on by those up and about in Cranleigh High Street early on.

The only issue I have, and this is me perhaps being bitter is that it would have been nice to have got some kind of memento for winning the 21 miler. All that effort for nothing more than a verbal pat on the back makes it seem very fruitless. It even shocked those at the finish line that I was the first guy as they had no way of telling if I was part of the 15 or 21. Just maybe for future years and the next winners, a little cheap and cheerful trophy would make this run a little bit more special.

In short: A very well organised event with lots of very helpful and cheery marshalls despite the rain. Mailny country lanes with a few gentle undulations. A great pre FLM event.

In short: Superb value, well organised and great training run for London.
In full: Really enjoyable course (apart form the uphill at the end of the 6 mile loop!), well organised, enthusiastic marshalls, superb value for money and a really pleasing time. Would recommend it to anyone training for London.

In short: Well organised with great marshalls good prep for London
In full: Thank you so much. The orange squash was appreciated. The water station at about 12 miles was very funny asking us to have the correct change ready. I hurt yesterday but am very proud of myself today. Special thanks to Brian for his help

In short: Great for the longest run before the Marathon.
In full: A pretty bleak start on a grey misty morning when the clocks had gone forward! But it only got better and a turned into a well organised race through pleasant country lanes on a not too testing route. If you have to go out and run 21 miles before the marathon, I can't think of a better way of doing it than in the company of a few like minded souls.
