In short: Great and not as hot as expected
In full: Many thanks to Wadhurst Runners for this; it was a great race and I really enjoyed it. The helpers were just great; so friendly. Thanks to them all.

I can't fault the organisation; the minibus to and from Wadhurst station was the icing on the cake.

Speaking of cakes they were brilliant too, as was the brass band.

The only improvement I could suggest was to post the profiles on the website; profiles clearly exist as they were on the walls of race HQ.

Whilst it was a warm day I found it much easier than Canterbury 2010 had been. I think this was because the course has a lot of natural shade and the large body of water may cool the air too.

The three hills at the end were hard work. Where I was (just below half-way) nearly everyone walked up part of the second hill and most walked up the final hill from the reservoir to the finish line.

There is a comment about overtaking being difficult. On the whole I don't agree. I did quite a lot of overtaking at the start and a bit at the end and my only problem was my lack of speed. I agree there were parts where overtaking was hard, but not that many.

In short: Not good for racing as hard to overtake. Mile markers could be more prominent

In short: Great day out: well organised, highly scenic and a challenging course.
In full: First time at Bewl this year and it was tougher than I expected. It was hot, dusty and hard underfoot. The track was quite twisty in places and even where there weren't hills there was a lot short climbs and drops. Add to that the odd stile and tree roots and it took a lot of concentration for someone like me who's used to running on flat roads or long hills. I was exhausted at the end. Nevertheless it was fantastic. Really well organised and very friendly even for those of us who came in at the tail end. Plenty of water and drinks and the sponges were a great idea - will take one with me on hot days in future. Couldn't fault the organisation and the lift from the station was a nice touch. Brilliant. I'll be back

In short: Thanks Waddies - another great year. And the extra water station and sponge stops were a boon on such a hott dayy.
