In short: Good race, hilly course and was very hot on the day. Water stations with manually filled plastic cups are useless though. They should have less stations with closeable bottles we can carry. And at the end they had run out of drinks and I queued 10 mc Date of review: June 9, 2008
In short: Better (easier?) course, great marshalling, need to improve the post-finish organisation In full: My 3rd time, and 3 different courses - preferred this year's course (would love it to be a consistent course). Great weather, great support along the route. Difficulty in getting people through at the finish. Date of review: June 9, 2008
In short: Great organisation and a challenging hilly course In full: I ran this last year and they've changed the course so you get more big hills at the start but its a definite improvement at the end. I'd forgotten how hilly this run actually is - there are few flat segments over 1k or so it seemed. Once again, over 20 degree heat made it tough but there are plenty of water stations (orange squash would be a welcome addition). Well marshalled. Great atmospere and organisation at start and finish lines. Makes a good family day out with the other events too and the park location. Pity about the shambles getting out of the parking afterwards. In short: heat and up and down course made a tough challenge! In full: well organised race with lots of marshalls, loads of water stops. Pleasant rural route and there was some much needed shade at times! leaving car park was a bit challenging, but at least we could park close to start! Date of review: June 9, 2008
In short: Good challenging course, well marshalled. In full: Not one for PBs perhaps, but a good challenging course (much better than 2 years previously). Finish in Verulamium Park always good. Marshalls were excellent around the course and good to see plenty of water stations.
The only downside was the organisation at the finish. Ice lollies ran out very early and there was no food / energy drink available as part of a gooie bag otherwise (after this challenging course in hot weather just a banana would have been welcome). Date of review: June 9, 2008
