In short: well organised from this runners viewpoint from baggage to marshalling but still don't like the zig-zag between 9 and 10 Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: Too expensive for a half In full: This is not a bad race but it is overpriced and then all runners are ripped off at the car parks £12 . The organisers advertised a medal but didn't deliver - not sure that a bag no matter how environmentally friendly is of any use to most runners .The T shirt was good . More marshalls are needed down by asda I saw a young lady fall and the only people to help were runners - All the marshalls did a great job Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: Well organised race In full: Companies like F3 Events could learn a lot from these guys! Ran like clockwork, great marshalling.
Some gruelling hills from mile 11 onwards but apart from that a great course.
Bring on 2010! Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: A nice run by the sea! In full: My second time at this race, last year being my first HM so I knew what to expect!
I know that the hills aren't particularly bad (the last HM I did was Barns Green!), but I don't like the fact that you don't get the benefit of a nice downhill stretch! The race was well organised, with a few minor route changes this year which made a difference (no steps up to the cycle path).
I was happy to get a t-shirt, but they had advertised a medal as well, so a little disappointed. I like the fabric bag though - nice touch. Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: Very well organised and run In full: I totally messed up by underestimating the time it would take me to get there and park so I had minutes to spare to take off the tracky bottoms and get the bag checked in - one of the "staff" was so helpful, tagging my bag while I got other stuff done.
The route was very good, with lots of space for everyone in most areas. My only problem here was the narrow bit between the fencing and the cliff going past the marina - I was on a flyer and, for some reason, everybody doing a certain speed ahead of me decided to do it 6 abreast.
I'd swap the T-shirt for a medal, any day. Medals are forever but T-shirts are rags after a few years. I rarely wear race T-shirts and I'm gathering quite a stack, now.
Getting the chip time by text was a properly good use of technology and I PBed by 13 minutes over my previous half-M time so I'm a very happy chap tonight! Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: I'm on the 'I want a medal' band wagon. You advertise it, then giveit In full: I was hauled up by my knee going mad on me at only 12 minutes into the run!! managed to get round somehow. Marshalls were great and were very encouraging. Enough on that awful downhill bit. The up hills were of no bother to me, but I found the down hill a damn nuisance. Would do it again next tho. In short: Well organised, pretty flat, good atmosphere In full: My 2nd year, and will be back for more. Overall a well organised race, really nice atmosphere, good supporters and by the seaside! Good PB potential - overall it is a flat race, the "hill" at mile 11 is not that bad in my opinion... I have seen much worse. Personally happy with the t-shirt as opposed to a medal, but each to their own! My one gripe which applies to the majority of races is PLEASE CAN WE HAVE MORE TOILETS!!!! I am sure there were less than last year.... Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: seafront hike In full: This was my fist ever 1/2 marathon and I really enjoyed it, even though my time was a bit slower than expected.
I was a bit disappointed to get to the end to find I had to make do with a LARGE tent-size t-shirt. I would much rather have received a medal to remind me of the race. I really liked the fabric goody bag though...
Some of the people watching did not quite know what to make of the event and seemed to be there due to being in the right place at the right time.
The seafront is a regular training spot for me so I found that part seemed to last forever. I quite like the hill from the pier up to Dukes Mound (mad I know!) but struggled with the hill up the cycle path to the cliff above the Marina.
No doubt I will sign up next year as it's very convenient for me. Plus there's a good pub to go for Sunday lunch not too far from the finish! Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: Pleasant run along the seafront In full: Pleasant race, enthusiastic crowds - fast, flat course with only a couple of short climbs between the beach and prom level (anyone who thinks these are "hills" ain't seen nothing).
I see there's been quite a lot of moaning about the lack of medals - personally I feel they're a waste of space so was happy with the T-shirt. It's not like I won or anything!
Only slight niggle on the organisation was waiting just back from the front of the 1:25 - 1:40 section only to have all the latecomers directed in the front starting pen in front of me. Course widened though and I was only using this as a training run so it wasn't too much of a problem. Date of review: February 22, 2009

In short: Nice scenic race..will be back next year! In full: Third time of running this and even though struggled a bit today I do really enjoy this race and will def be back next year! Just love running by the sea! Really missed a medal at the end though...please bring back medals next year..not a fan of some cheap T-shirt! Date of review: February 22, 2009
