In short: What can you say. Glorious mud and sunshine all in one day. Without doubt one of the most stunning races I have undertaken with extremely efficient organisation and great support from marshalls and supporters alike. In next years diary already.

In short: Brilliant
In full: Challenging course but very friendly atmosphere both from the marshalls and other runners make this a must do event and I knocked 6 minutes off my time from last year, can't be bad. Only one complaint:Some greedy *****s had eaten all the cakes by the time I got in!!!

In short: Tough, tumbled over in the mud, took forever but what a race! Stunning scenery, friendliest marshalls and runners. Terrific.
In full: Despite my legs feeling like lead - not helped by the three pounds of mud caked to each shoe! - and struggling a lot in the last few miles, the stunning scenery, incredibly friendly and supportive marshalls and runners, lovely gloopy mud and challenging hills (felt like mountains to me!!) made this a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday. It put a smile on my face and half a hundredweight of mud in my washing machine.

Glad we bought our cakes before the race and had them put aside for us, otherwise we'd have missed out!!!

In short: Two things are a must for this race, trail shoes and a tupperware container to take cake home in.
In full: Firstly, the most important issue of the day, to review the cake. Just which superlatives can I choose to describe the glorious decadence that is the cake ! Delectable, splendid, magnificent, succulent, uplifting, I could gush on and on ! I brought a wide variety of cake home and am greedily scoffing it as I type this review.

But what of the race ? Well, just take it from me that it is every bit as good as the cake in every which way. This is a rough event but even if you walk round the course it is so spectacular you can not fail to be weak at the knees when you finish, or indeed for several days afterwards. It is not only about running, but also footing, balance, picking your pathway and keeping at it through gritted teeth.

A real must do. I can not recommend this highly enough. Get it done.

In short: What a cracking day - I'm shattered. Brilliant race, a real challenge
In full: Amazing way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday !!! Another triumph from Steve Goulding and crew. The hills were just as bad as last year and the mud was good for the complexion. Marshalls deserve gold stars and we remembered to buy our cakes before the start.
