In short: felt difficult...but the time surprised.......
In full: great organisation right from the start....hill at the start then a lot of subtle rolling terrain throughout..... closed roads, pleasant countryside and what goes up, must come down....a lightning finish...! A 4 minute PB where it wasn't expected and very nearly a dip under 1h 30...!

Not quite sure about the whole Ipod ban thing myself....I don't use one but know several people who do and it almost seemed like the organisers went looking for people with them at one point....which is a shame given that on the entry form it only recommended they were not used, not forbidden... its all a bit OTT, but I guess we've done that one to death before....still it's not really against the rules is it...? Latest RW Dec 2008 p62 makes it quite clear..

In short: A challenging run through Robin Hood's back yard
In full: The biggest hill is at the start, which is the best place for it I suppose. After that there doesn't seem to be many flat bits, but there's no real hills either. The lion's share of the run is through Clumber Park, part of Sherwood Forest, so while there's no breathtaking views you are completely removed from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. Facilities ae good and the fact that it's the morning after the clocks change means you get a bit of a lie in whilst still having a good chunk of the day left afterwards.
