In short: Excellent organisation and a superb atmosphere, great route.
In full: Really enjoyed my 1st marathon. Seemed very well organised. Great start and finish at the racecourse and through chester. A few small hills on the course but mainly flat. Enjoyed all the support especially at the end. Nice medal and long sleeved technical top.

In short: Superb organisation, brilliant support and excellent route
In full: Can hardly fault it! Great route, excellent organisation, the most brilliant support and to top it all a nice medal and a "proper" long sleeved running top. The marshalls and supporters really deserve a special mention. They were so friendly and supportive. I felt like an Olympic champion as everyone shouted out my name as I passed. The route is really good too - especially the start and finish through scenic Chester. The loo situation at the start (i.e. nowhere near enough of them - huge queues) is my only slight gripe. But that does feel a bit churlish as everything else was so fantastic.

In short: Did it last year, did it this year- PBs in both-will almost certainly do it next year unless I go to Abingdon for a change...
In full: This is a great race- largely due to the attention to detail and friendliness of the organisers and the encouragement and support of the villages we passed through. Fantastic race and fantastic people. Love it!!

In short: One of the largest marathon only events in UK, very well organised.
In full: Great marathon only event, 3000+ means you are never on your own, in the lovely Cheshire and Wrexham countryside. Great support in various villages. Super orgainsation and all cleaned away by the afternoon (I drove back over much of the course).

In short: See you next year Chester
In full: SUPERBLY organised race, non quite as flat as I thought it would be but PB potential. starts and finishes in the racecourse. Much of the marathon is through beautiful country lanes, the support through the various passing villages was fantastic and really helped. Locals and volunteers cheering your name on (which is a great touch to the race numbers) throughout the race, handing out jelly babies. Regular water stations, isotonic drink stations and energy gels. What a great day!

In short: Superb organisation, super friendly, great route
In full: Organisation and route are magnificent - the rest is up to you!
I hobbled into the bag collect area only to see my rucksack already on the counter- the marshall had obviously clocked my number from 50 yards and gone to fetch it already! Just another example of fantastic efficiency and friendliness that permeated the entire day - this is a truly special event

In short: Starting and finishing at Chester Racecourse, a superb day out at the races!
In full: We runners deal in numbers, stats and figures - so 10 out of 10 to the Chester Marathon.
Super-slick organisation, very friendly people to deal with, excellent marshals, good value for money - and a top course to boot.
Winding through historic Chester before heading out into the countryside and over the Welsh border was spot on for me.
Mix in a cracking flat route, a gorgeous autumnal day, a super goodie bag and top-notch technical long-sleeved top and this must be one of the best 26.2-milers anywhere.
Fantastic start and finish at the racecourse, one of my best running days out ever - and I smashed my PB by 4mins to hit 3:34!

In short: Top Class.
In full: Wow, wow, wow, what a day, what a race, what fantastic organisation and crowd support. Loved it, my 1st marathon and I am definitely a convert. Was going for a sub 4, and managed a 3.47. Last 3 miles were very tough and had 3 10 min miles overall, which made it strange that the last mile was sub 9 ! Who cares, loved it so much, will definitely do another. Well done Chester, you should be proud of yourself.

The texts sent out within minutes was wonderful as was the names on the vests. Hearing people shout your name when you're knackered really helped.

In short: another superb chester marathon
In full: second time running this and little has changed. The organisation and course are superb.Friendly encouraging marshalls and lovely crowd support. The start and finish areas have slight changed position on the course, but I preferred that on the run in as it was shorter. This is a must do marathon and is absolutely perfect for beginners. A 7 minute personal best to boot.next stop Abingdon once the blisters and bones have healed
