In short: My first marathon and I couldn't have chosen a better one!
In full: This was my first marathon and my mate who also ran today and did his first marathon in Chester lat year sold it to me as he said it was very friendly (and it was - I talked to loads of people throughout both fellow runners and people in the crowd) the crowds throughout were very supportive (and they were) and as it's organised by runners it's well organised (and it was). I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to do it next year. I would highly recommend it. Thanks to all the helpers too.

In short: Quick, well organised and perfect conditions
In full: This was a really good marathon. Little touches like having your name printed on your bib numbers were great and really encouraged the crowd to cheer you inidividually. I quite like the fact that the crowd isn't dense all the way round the course, but when you went through the villages, they really came out in force to spur you on.
Queues for the portaloos at the start were really long, but it was deceptive and they moved pretty quickly, so no complaints there.
Goody bag was decent enough and the long sleeve t-shirt will be awesome for winter training.
If I had to be really picky, there were only 2 things that frustrated me: 1) the first bit around the racecourse is very narrow and it was frustrating trying to get into a rhythm. 2) The social media tracker results only appeared right at the end, so my family had no idea if I'd made it through half way when I passed them at the finish.
Overall - I really enjoyed this and will come back again.

In short: My first marathon and loved it. Organisation could not be improved on and the course and support were great. Can't see how any mara could do better than this. Amazing race.

In short: I will be back next year
In full: I entered as part of our club (We had 11 Runners) and all agreed that it was a brilliant race, well organised, friendly, great drinks station, good value and good course. we stayed at Premier Inn in Chester, enjoyed the walk through the City to the start, had to stop in the pub on the way back though. Wives and partners also enjoyed event as thay could see the start, go into Chester for a couple of hours and then get back in plenty of time to see us back over the line.
Only minor gripe was lack of signage in the event village, i never knew there were lots of portaloos until i just read it in a review here. We never found the Club Corner either. We will be back next year and may stay for a break as Chester did look like a good place to look around.

In short: Exemplary
In full: Great organisation from the minute you enter. Not as flat as advertised, but good rural traffic free route. Friendly marshalls, and good water/ drink stations.

suffered cramp over last 4 miles which was the only downside as it was going so well to that point.

Highly recommended.

In short: My first sub 3 :-) a fantastic day
In full: A very well organized race, you can tell it was done by runners with runners in mind. Some nice touches like the names on the numbers. Lots of water and feeding stations. A good proportion of club runners up to 75% meant it was made for Pbs, and am I glad I picked Chester to get mine, after pulling out of Mablethorpe in the heat wave the weekend b4. Lucky I had Chester as my plan B, next year it will be my plan A
