In short: A particularly strong wind whistling across the downs did nothing to... In full: Dampen spirits. Even when accompanied by that horrible fine rain which gets you soaked through and stings eyes.
The welcome from the organisers added to lovely helpful cheery marshalls, the beautiful views you know exist behind the curtain of mist across Epsom Downs, the super (always unusual and very useful) token at the end with water stations a plenty and even Quality Street en route made it a very pleasant start to the racing year.
I'll be back next year. Date of review: January 7, 2007
In short: I came back for some more! In full: Given that I left my hand towel at the finish last year (the momento), I came back for some more! The gloves were a nice touch instead. Given the windy times, I suspect many runners times were down on last year. Still a great race to blow those New Year cobwebs away. Some more local support would have been appreciated. I'll be back Date of review: January 7, 2007
In short: First 10miler. Enjoyed it. Even the hills (but I'm sad like that). In full: Everyone talked about Ebbisham Lane. Yeah it was a long hill first time round and a longer one second time but the marshalls / water station on the top gave a friendly cheer and provided the encouragement. I also had visions of running along the switchback road between Tadworth & Tatt Corner, so the off-road bit there was very welcome. The Downs scenery is lovely and its worth looking slighly further than 10 yards in front. The organisers / marshalls at the car park were friendly and efficient although it was a good tip to get there early - the nearest car parks were full 45mins before the off. Will do it again next year. Date of review: January 16, 2006

In short: A nice 10 mile run with a few Challenging hills In full: second time ive done this race so no big Surprises, a nice challenge for the start of the year. im not sure about the Towel or last years hat as Memento, i still think a medal is a better keep sake. It was a good race and i will do it again next year if i get chance. Date of review: January 11, 2006
In short: A challenging but very enjoyable race, well organised, friendly marshalls and support all round In full: Unfortunately narrowly missed a pb due to being knocked over by a dog near the end, however still knocked 9 minutes off last years time, so am happy with that and will definitely be back next year! In short: Very hilly, but a great new year test for your legs. In full: The hills are bareable on the 1st 5 mile lap, but are a real test on the 2nd lap. Its a great way to start the year, and marathon training, with a long, toughish race. The atmosphere and organisation is great with friendly marshalls throughout the course. A 'Must Run' race. In short: Good undulating race to brushaway those xmas cobwebs..... In full: A good ten miler. Hills, roads and muddy tracks. V well organised and marshalled. Momento towel was an interesting touch, unique and useful, better than a t-shirt. Date of review: January 10, 2006
