In short: Great fun, muddy, a laugh, this could be a big one!! In full: Lovely location and a great atmosphere. The off-road section made for a very different race!! Cup of tea and biscuits afterwards were a nice touch, very welcome. Only minor niggle was the signage into the event and to the registration area. However it was encouraging how many were on hand to support all of the organisation Date of review: February 26, 2007
In short: I had a bad day at the office!!! In full: Having picked up an injury a fortnight ago and possibly made it worse at Bungay 20K last week, I decided to have a go at this half. Good venue, tons of car parking, nice friendly stewards, reasonable goody bag, nice that a lot of the "quickies" had stayed around and were giving us plodders some encouragement. Thanks especially to the guy who picked up my drinks bottle that dropped out of its holder near the finish and put himself out to find me and return it. Cheers mate it was really kind.
However the first few mile markers were all over the place, the cycle way "may be slippery if wet" was a mud bath, gypsy kids who obviously had just discovered fire or more particularly smoke, the drinks supplied were a bit pathetic, an inch of water in a plastic cup!! And then at mile 7 I lost a contact lens and was running around like Mr Magoo!! I didn't enjoy this one too much. Date of review: February 26, 2007
In short: Great day out In full: Well organised, and no worries with the slippery muddy cross country section. The mile markers at 1 and 2 were 300 or more yards short, but not a huge concern. The new finish line was good too. Thanks to Vicky and Jo who kept me going! Date of review: February 26, 2007
